In the Kelly Sue Deconnick Captain Marvel comics I read Carol was very much stubborn and quick to take charge and doesn't deal well with other people's ********. I hope they aren't afraid to make her at least as flawed as KSD made her.

Stubbornness is without a doubt one of her most salient character traits.

Why? Vision has unique personality and great powerset. And I don't get why everybody wants Hawkeye to die. Let him retire and go to his family.

Interestingly enough, Lynch is at least the third actress to be offered the role it had been offered to another upcoming star before Wise. While it’s important to note that at this point in the process, we can’t share with you the name of the actress who passed, but we can say she was Marvel Studios’ first choice.

Thanks to a source with knowledge of the production, we can pass on a little info about what the Wise’s role is all about. We are told that Wise was set to play the mother of a young child who would be a “contemporary” of Carol Danvers. As for what role it might be, all we can offer is a bit of speculation: the actress who originally passed on the role is a dead ringer for one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe and a one-time holder of the Captain Marvel legacy title herself: Monica Rambeau.

My random crazy prediction: the character Lynch is playing is not Monica Rambeau... it's her mother.

Carol's neighbor's kid that idolized her was named Kit. I was always kinda hoping they'd conflate her character with Kamala Kahn.

Lynch being Monica's mom would be...an interesting twist, I guess? Not sure if I'd like that.

Possible. Likely they will want Monica in our present day timeline, so having it be her mother works very well.

On another note, I saw Tomb Raider today and was pleasantly surprised. It's not anything great, but it was written by the main writer on this and I think she did a pretty solid job on the adaptation there all things considered, so between her, our first writers from Inside Out and GotG, and Fleck & Boden being strong writers themselves, I have faith that the screenplay for this one should be more than solid at this point.

If they were to combine the characters, I'm not sure I'm a fan of changing the character to exclude Kamala.

Honestly, Mara Rambeau makes a ton of sense and I'm surprised I didn't think of it. I never thought they would have another powered superhero in this movie who could steal Carol's spotlight. And, if they had Spectrum, it would pretty much preclude using her in any future movie due to the setting. It seemed like such a waste. But having Monica's mother means Monica Rambeau is old enough to be a hero in any sequel instead. That makes way more sense to me.
