Where is it?With the current trend of remakes and adaptions, and the whole going green obsession.I think It's about time for a Captain Planet film. It'll be Cheesetastic.

Actually i remember reading a few months ago a captain planet live action film was in the works. But since then i havent heard anything. Hopefully if it does happen its not to cheesy and takes the show seriously and cast the right people for the roles.

A serious Captain Planet wouldn't work. It's a ridiculous, extremely left wing concept. The best way to do it would be at tounge in cheek comedy, that still keeps the message of the show, but without being preachy (I'm looking at you, The Happening).

Eh, I figure you could always make Captain Planet into an agent of wrath and REALLY have him do some damage.

There would be no way to make this into semi-serious film and keep true to the cartoon at the same time.

The cartoon was cheesy as all hell...and that was mainly because of the message they were trying to shove down the kiddies throats.

Well...maybe not the actual message of taking care of the planet...but it was cheesy the way they went about it.

A Captain Planet movie needs to be campy & tounge in cheek. If it was'nt would it really be Captain Planet?

I used to watch this...didn't we say all we really needed to say with the series?

Oh God no. GI Joe is acceptable, but I can only see this ending in complete and total failure. It would only be good as a comedy (or a Broadway musical).

This is probably one of the few cases where bastardizing the source material would actually be an improvement. :oldrazz:

I´d like to see this movie but only if Captain Planet fights ManBearPig :woot:

Seth Rogen needs to write a Captain Planet movie. I know he's doing Green Hornet, but it would be hilarious if he does a stoner flick about saving the environment.

It's the right time....everyone is becoming more earth conscious...why not???

they should make him a Democrat that's against off shore oil drilling and wants to let gas prices raise while working on alternative fuel sources which won't take over for another decade or 2. :)

Captain Planet never sat well with me. Mainly because the Planeteers were incompetent and should have just called for Cap as soon as trouble showed up.

I think a Captain Planet film CAN work.
What happened to creativity...? Sure, the show was a hot mess but a revamped storyline can make Captain Planet hot again! There just needs to be good writers attached and a story that is original and catchy; it doesn't need to follow the show's arc (obviously that wouldnt translate well to the silver screen).
This is my opinion of course...and they definitely have to revamp Captain's look, cause a green mullet just won't do :hehe:

I can see it now:

Captain Planet: The Movie
Attack of the Globalwarmers

The villains would be that pig guy and his car polluting green house gases into the atmosphere.

i vote comedy :D keep the mullet as well!
plus i'd love to see the villains!

c'mon! let's start a casting thread.
Maybe some studios who browse this site can see they hype, then get ideas.

i vote bruce campbell as captain planet!
i might be alone here.

I could see it working as a tongue in cheek action film. As long as the people involved take it seriously, it could be quite cool. Sort of like "Transformers" but with people firing the elements at each other through their hand jewellery.

If someone made this movie, I have a feeling it'll be a disaster film (in more ways than one). ;)
