Well, honestly, they really didn't have to make her almost completely naked. If they wanted to go for ancient and gritty vibe, which I assume they did (it appears that what she wears is what is left of witches' clothes from centuries ago, probably found in that cave as well), they still could have given her some distressed fabric under the metallic parts. But what's there is there... and as I said, I do like the fact that those sigils are visible.

Her eyes look way better in that close-up.

There's some golden skin or paint. I like the rich texture on her. She's gonna look glorious on screen.

That's the irony of it all, lol.

But like KillerWolf said, her creepiness takes away from the scandelous look. At least for me. I feel this look fits. The outfit is the last thing I imagine one notices when they look at her. The symbols on her body and mostly her face grabbed me the most.

I understand being disappointed that all onscreen comicbook women have to look sexy. She's a villain though, I'm more bothered when female heroes all have to wear sexy catsuits and short skirts. It would be nice to have one DCEU woman not named Lois Lane wearing pants.

I knew she'd be dressed like that, what with Cara being a model.

    hahaha.

    So am I.

I think it's different with villain characters tho. I love that Ayer does not give a damn.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Delevingne totally does it for me, but if it were up to me, her costume wouldn't have been quite so...provocative.

This time, I think it's sort of justified. Maybe it'll work in context, but I can understand being upset that yet another woman in a comic book film is being sexualized/objectified.

    Agreed.

What people seem to forget is that most comic book characters are sexualized in some way. They're supposed to be a physical ideal that we should strive for. I think the people who complain are just jealous that they wouldn't look good in an outfit like that.

They were selling the eyes on that picture. And they succeeded so much, I didn't even notice she's almost naked. All these tats and trinkets are so dense, it almost looks like an outfit of sorts. As for her nakedness, she looks feral, not sexualized.

Female members of the audience can ogle muscular Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, male audience members get to look at Harley and Enchantress.

    How's that for equality.

Actually, in this context, it actually does work and I really don't think saying that her appearance/design is "offensive" to women or anything like that is justified.

If she was a female hero/villain that was dressed scantily for no discernible reason other than to look sexy, that would be one thing. But in this case, we're seeing a woman who is possessed by an evil spirit that has been trapped for a long time and has just now been "let out" to do as she pleases. A "feral being" as she's been described -- not domesticated or cultivated, existing in a "natural state", wild, etc.

And they always have Magic Mike if shirtless Cavill isn't enough.

I think this is painfully oversimplifying things that hurts some very legitimate arguments on matter of sexualization of female characters in general.

And while the argument about physical ideal might go in line with Wonder Woman and such characters, it's not the part of Enchantress. They didn't have to dress her like this (or rather not dress her sufficiently), but they did, for whatever reason. Now, I'm not pro for freaking out because of it, but I can understand complaints about it to an extent.

Though I personally don't find Delevingne's Enchantress to be really sexualized for reasons already mentioned regarding the creepy vibe that is primarily there.

I find it worrying that so many people seem to get the sexy vibe from the crazy, feral witch that just emerged from the puddle of black goo. You guys need to go out more. :oldrazz:

Its not like she doesn't wear more clothes as we've seen in the trailer
Joker isn't going to be shirtless the entire movie either
