I have noticed threads now and then casting cartoon shows, such as Batman Beyond, and I have notcied that they are making live action movies from cartoons already like Transformers or G.I.Joe. So I just thought I would make a thread for casting any and every cartoon show out there.
Imagine they were making a live action movie out of your favorite cartoon shows, what Live Action actors and actresses would you like to see cast as your favorite cartoon characters?

GARGOYLES.jpg

I'll start with one I was considering the other day:
How about a live action Gargoyles movie?

I was looking at who voiced who, and for the most part the voice actor matched the character they were playing, so why not cast the voice actors as the live action characters they played in the cartoon?
Of coarse for the Gargoyles, and other characters, lots of FX and make up and prosthetic would be used. But look at LOTR, and with CG, almost anything is possible nowadays. It would end up being a big budget movie though. Anyway here:

Keith David voiced Goliath
Goliath.jpg
goliathsmile.jpg

Just imagine him with lots of prosthetics and a combination of CG, make up, and other effects, to make him look like Goliath, sort of similar to the way they make Mikcy Rourke look like Marve.

Salli Richardson-Whitfield voiced Eliza Maza

Marina Sirtis voiced Demona

Like Keith David, Marina would require lots of prosthetics and CG (like Nightcrawler in X2).

Jonathan Frakes voiced Xanatos

Like Elisa Maza's character, Xanatos wouldn't need make up or FX.

The fallowing actors: Edward Asner, Bill ***erbakke, Jeff Bennett, and Thom Adcox-Hernandez, voiced the characters in this picture here.

Edward Asner voiced Hudson

And like the other Gargoyals, Ed would need make up and prosthetics and such.

Bill ***erbakke voiced Broadway
Broadway-1.jpg

Same with Bill. (and I don't know why it bleeped out his name.)

Jeff Bennett voiced Brooklyn
Brooklyn.jpg

Jeff would also need make up and CG and such.

Thom Adcox-Hernandez voiced Lexington
Lexington-1.jpg

Her would also require some CG, make up, prosthetics, and other FX.
But like I have said before, its been done in X-Men, Sin City, Legend, and so on.

So cast a cartoon show, any cartoon. He-Man, the Simpsons, JLU, Ren and Stimpy, anything.

Not really a cartoon character but I'd like to see Kevin James as Groo the wanderer on the big screen.

In the special features to Cities of Gold, the writer says he's been working on a screenplay for some time now. Not sure if I'd like to see it but I think he gave it a date as well of when he expects to finish it as well.

Hey if they can make Ron Perlman look like Hellboy anything is possible.

I didn't know that. That cool. (although I think I watched that too. so I should have remembered).

I know. Nowadays films can do almost anything cartoons can do.
I originally started this thread for casting any cartoon based live action movie.
But here is a thread for the Gargoyles live action movie, I posted examples of special effects too:

Check it out.

I haven't liked any live-action cartoon adaptation so far, (Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Chipmunks, Inspector Gadget, Dudley Do-Right; I REFUSE to see Underdog, George of the Jungle or the sequels to any of the aforementioned.) so it's hard for me to get enthused.

So far Transformers has been the only one I liked, but that could also be considered a comic-book movie since its hads many comic-book runs.

I consider it a toy movie since the toy came first.

Jim Carey as George Jetson

As for Gargoyles, I feel you could do better than the voice actors in live action except for Broadway, Hudson, and Eliza DO fit VERY well. I think a series of cartoon movie follow ups would work better in general anyways. Think of how they are doing Futurama.

.

A live action movie based on a cartoon is just a fun idea,
I just noticed how most of the cartoon characters look like their voices and how many of the voices are actors not just voice actors. So why not.

Plus I think no one can do Goliath like Kieth David.

And so,
Another:
I always thought this guy looked like Zap Branigan
(he was on Reba).

I was thinking the original voice actors could work as the live action actors too,
Will Friedle as Terry McGinnis/Batman Beyond
Will_Friedle.jpg

(just dye his hair jet black, and give him time to buff up for the role)
And since its meant to be in the future his suit could be more high tech than that one in Begins or Dark Knight, but still reminiscent of that.

Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne
kevin_conroy.jpg
brucewayneremembersthepast.jpg

(Just add some gray hair and make up to make him look older)

Teri Garr as Terry's mom
teri_garr.jpg

(Just dye her hair red)

Stockard Channing as Commissioner Barbra Gordon

(Just dye her hair gray)

I had posted my cast suggestions for a live action Batman Beyond movie on another thread. I like your suggestion of using Will Friedle as Terry. I wrote that he should be played by an unknown, but I never realized how much the voice actor and the character looked alike. Here are my casting suggestions...

Bruce Wayne: Clint Eastwood

Terry Macguiness/Batman: Will Friedle

Mr. Macguiness: George Clooney (a wink and a nod to earlier Batman films)

Mr. Tulley: Michael Keaton (a wink and a nod to earlier Batman films)

Dana: Megan Fox

Mrs. MacGuiness: Michelle Pfiefer (a wink and a nod to earlier Batman films)

Matt Macguiness: Unknown

Derec Powerz/Blight: Patric Stewart

Mr. Fix: Tim "Tiny" Lister Jr.

Maxine: Tatiana Ali

Chelsea: Unknown

Blade: Unknown

Nelson: Unknown

Commissioner Barbra Gordon: Stockard Channing

The plot would be a blend of the episodes "A New Beginning" (aka: Batman Beyond The Animated Movie); "Meltdown" (where Batman is introduced to Blight for the first time, but minus the part about Mr. Freeze); and "Ascention" (where Terry learns that Derec Powerz and Blight are one and the same and they have their final battle on a nuclear submarine).

All the voice actors from the cartoon look remarkably like their characters. Only thing is I think Lexington would have to be done completely with CGI (like Gollum was in LOTR). Thom Adcox-Hernandez can be the guy in the lycra suit providing all the movement and the voice for the character, but I don't think Lexington can be done soley on prosthetic make up. I also think Hudson should be recast. I doubt Ed Asner would be able to handle the physical demands of the role at his age, especially under all those prosthetics. Maybe give Ed Asner a role as Elisa Maza's C.O. And give the role of Hudson to someone in a little better shape, like Sean Connery.

Here's one I never get tired of submitting...

THUNDARR THE BARBARIAN

Thundarr The Barbarian: Tyler Mane

Ookla The Mok: "The Great Khali" Dhalib Singh

Princess Ariel The Sorceress: Kristen Kreuk

The Evil Wizard Gemini: Michael Ironside

Executive Producer: George Lucas

Producers: Joe Ruby and Ken Spears

Writers: Buzz Dixon and John Milius

Director(s): Peter Jackson and/or John Milius

DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS

Dungeon Master: Vern "Mini-Me" Troyer

Hank The Ranger: Hayden Christiansen

Eric The Cavalier: the guy who plays Stiffler's brother in American Pie: Band Camp

Shiela The Thief: Lyndsay Lohan

Diana The Acrobat: Tatiana Ali

Presto The Wizard: Johnathan Lipniki

Bobby The Barbarian: Unknown

Venger: Gary Oldman

Cant think of a cast, but would love to see a Visionaries movie one day.

Speed Racer was the best cartoon to live action movie EVER.

Conan The Adventurer!

I'll have to put some thought into the casting though.

top choices...

-Gargoyles
-Pirates of Darkwater
-Batman Beyond
-Futurama
-The Herculoids

Hell yeah! I can't belive I forgot that one. Maybe get Marc Singer as the dad, Pamela Anderson as the mom, and I have no idea who should play the kid. Of course all of the herculoids would be done in CGI (the rock ape, the laser dragon, the rhino looking thing, and Gleep & Gloop). Some of them might be able to be done with a combination of animatronics and CG, but Gloop & Gleep would have to be 100% CGI.
