Cartoon to Live Action Film

Not my picks, I may have my own ideas, but UGO.com posted their cast for a live action Venture Brothers:

did they ever finish the pirates of dark water? i only remember them getting to like second to last episode then the show was gone.

i would like to see reboot, but i guess it was basically tron with pop culture references. how about gummi bears or mighty max, space ghost, megaman. these are animes, ronin warriors, record of the lodoss war, ninja scroll, cowboy bebop, samurai champloo, gundam wing,

The only live action cartoon I've liked was Popeye, but I would be down for Batman Beyond.

I was thinking of a live action Mega Man as well. That would be cool.
A scientist who creates a boy, and his rival/former friend who steals the designs and makes robot weapons, forcing the good scientist to turn his robot son into a weapon against them.
It would be so good.

Not sure if she can even act, but she looks like Dr. Girlfriend. And I could see the voice from Venture Brothers doing her voice in the movie too.

Patrick Warburton for Brock Samson.

Just give him a wig and Ta-Dah!

Sacha Baron Cohen for Dr. Orpheus.

Patton Oswalt or Jonah Hill (Make him nerdy and thinks he's bad-ass) as 21

they never did the final episode. i believe the budget was cut or something and they ran out of money and the show got canceled.

I still cant believe a movie hasnt been made out of the likes of Visionaries, Bravestar, and many many more, I thought Hollywood would have well turned to these by now.

the 80's Dungeons & Dragons" cartoon wouuld be awesome to see, it would look like a Willow-esque kind of movie

Speed Racer was the best cartoon to live action movie EVER.

as much as i LOVED Speed Racer, I will have to disagree and say POPEYE was the best Cartoon to Live Action movie ever.

SR is #2 :woot:

I dunno... i still think The Flintstones might be one of the best... it was a nice mix of keeping the stylistics and heart of the show, while at the same time creating an original story with the spirit of the show.

Casper, while venturing away from the show was one of the best stories too

I so totally have to agree with you there. I've said as much myself on numerous threads on this site (this one included).

Too bad Popeye was such a dismal failure at the BO (although I loved it as a kid). Robin Williams often joked about how badly it did in his stand up acts during the '80s.

Robin (as himself): What? Me starring in Popeye isn't good enough for you now?

Robin (as his son): Don't fool yourself, Dad. Popeye wasn't good for anyone.

He also poked fun at the movie in episodes of Mork & Mindy.

i still think the film is genius.

I have it on DVD and have to watch it every so often.

I gotta agree with you there. The Flintstones was a lot of fun. Well cast. Well directed. The plot was a little too advanced for the younger audience, but still pretty well written for those who have grown up on the show. And seeing Halle Berry in that cave girl outfit is the icing on the cake.

I think we can thank Spielberg for all of that

I never said it wasn't, only that it wasn't well received by either critics or the general audience at the time.

how about dinosaucers. dinosaurs from outer space. thundercats, why doesnt jackie chan do the jackie chan adventures movie. i mean cmon he should have jumped at that after the show was over.
yes batman beyond would be the best. seeing bruce wayne as the new kick ass alfred is cool. also all the future tech stuff. the suit is more iron man than batman. so it's like iron man meets batman. so they should have no trouble selling the story to the audience. the suit is tech oriented is what i mean by like iron man.

i see what you mean about the suit. Thats why I wanted some episodes where Terry goes out and shows he is more than the suit that gives him super speed, strength and reflexes. Or show him training like Dick and Tim did with Bruce, sparing and such.
Maybe a live action movie could do that.

I am surprised about the Jackie Chan Adventures idea. I mean he is sort of having trouble finding movies to do now. Maybe that could work, even today.
Chan, Uncle, that little girl, the big guy who used to be bad, the secret agent man.
It would all still work, even at his age I think.

"Samurai Jack" screams for a live action version.

"Ben 10" does, too. I know they've done a couple of made for TV movies. I thought they showed potential but just didn't do the justice to it a big screen treatment would.

"SSSSSSPPPPPAAAAACCCCCEEEEEEEGGGGGHHHHOOOOOSSSSSTTTTTT!!!!!!
(Yeah, Baby!)

BraveStar.

make it like a straight up WESTERN, and just infuse minor technology in daily use and heavy tech for other stuff, like Kerrium mines or 30/30.

i liked war planets or shadow raiders depending on where your from. would be a good sci fi movie.
basically its about a solar system where the planets are inhabited by different humanoid species and they fight each other for resources the planets have. then a race shows up and they only want to conquer. so the warring planets try to unite against a common foe.
