Purvis and Wade?
Regardless of what you think of brosnan you have to give him credit for keeping bond relevant in the 90's and post cold war world.
Dalton was never particularly popular with audiences and i don't think he would have had the success of brosnan in the 90's. I think it was fitting that we got a new bond for a new world and brosnan was a good example of that 90's action style.
You can argue the same i suppose about craig in the now post 9/11 world and the new breed of action stars now.
I struggle to think of a villain better than Alec.
Craig though is just perfect at what he is attempting. If you simply judge the actors on their acting, Brosnan is battling Moore for worst Bond. Yes, worse then Lazenby, who was able to fight with the best of them and had the most heartfelt Bond scene before Craig showed up.
And then Woo copied it for MI2.
I still don't quite get the backlash. Probably simply about following Connery who was pretty bad in his last three outings as Bond. I was ready to dislike him when I finally saw OHMSS, but I thought he did pretty well. At least unlike Brosnan he could actually appear tough. I agree given time he could have been great. The Laz would have been awesome if he had more time in the role
But made it much better. Considering how many people he's influenced, I don't begrudge him for riffing on a GoldenEye cheapie.

QoS is easily better then all the Moore films imo. The best Moore film being TSWLM, which I'd say is a mediocre film at best.
It hasnt aged well imo. The 90s aesthetic, the jack ryan plot, leg chocking lady, that annoying computer hacker character, and the borderline awful score.

To me, absolutely not and I'm just going to leave it there for me.
I'd defend it, but honestly I'd rather just get back on topic and bring this to another Bond thread.
What do you guys think of the scores for both movies.

Is it the chickens? Or perhaps Jaws exiting a house after crashing his car into like nothing happened? No, must be the rocket sidecar. t:
Shut up! It was fan! And traditional! And epic! And full circle!
But it had great set designs!
One last thing about Brosnan though. It irks me when people say that Goldeneye is only remembered because of the game. I find it ignorant when people say that because they forget that Goldeneye was a hit movie that, like Casino Royale did in the 00s, got people into Bond again. Plus, the game was released 2 years after the movie so it had nothing to do with movies success in 95'.

That scene after Lazenby has been chased down the mountain by Blofeld's men and he just sits and watches the feet of people as they pass by. The absolutely beaten look on Lazenby's face is just perfect.
