This is the new gunbarrel sequence for Casino Royale, first featured on iTV's "Becoming Bond" Special. Been confirmed by CommanderBond.net's own Dave Winter(who has been to the press screenings) that this is the actual design of the gunbarrel for CR.

Yup. To be honest, though, that still doesn't do it justice. To appreciate it you have to see it in motion (check it out on YouTube - search for Becoming Bond and go to pt 3; it's around the 6:30 mark).

Personally, I think it's a cool update of the gunbarrel. The reflections of Bond throughout are fantastic. That said, it's probably something that will cause controversy, ala the DIE ANOTHER DAY bullet-in-the-gunbarrel, but personally I think the new take is cool. New Bond, new gunbarrel.

I really liked that one.
Casion Royale's one looks great.

Out with the old, in with the new.
It restarts the tradition and doesn't do it in the beginning of the film anymore, right?

Yup. It will go back to the normal spot after CASINO ROYALE, but CASINO ROYALE symbolically places the gunbarrel after the pre-title sequence, utilizing it as an intro to the main titles.

I think they're showing some stuff about it tonight on itv4 after live and let die.

The best gun barrel so far is Lazenby's. He's just so smooth when he does it, like a dancer.

Really? That's perhaps my least favorite. I'm just not a fan of the "one on knee" thing.

As far as my favorite, I'm going to have to go with Craig. It's very fluid. I loved it the first time I saw it, and I'm loving it now.

I think lazenbys makes sense..go to your knee less to shoot at..

but my best one..

Brosnans.

I suppose, but the gunbarrel's all about looking cool - not being realistic.

Brosnan's was always too stiff for me (though it was certainly better than a lot of the poses). I did really like his alternate gunbarrel pose a great deal. That gunbarrel, which Daniel Kleinman created with the intention of replacing the more standard gunbarrel, appears in the TOMORROW NEVER DIES theatrical trailer.

Heh, just watched it. They should've used that one for Pierce's!

Brosnan wasn't the first to do that kind of gun barrel though..i believe roger moore did..

either was i prefur Brosnans.

The point isn't about doing a new pose - it's about doing a cool one. I mean, Craig's pose is just as reminiscent of ones in the past as there is any other. There's only so many ways you can point a gun.

Yeah, that pose is like Rog's, but Brosnan there is doing it far better than Roger ever did.

nah..

roger leads the way in gun barrels..the only actor to have done two versions used in the final films..not just a trailer... gun barrels arent about doing cools ones.. its basicly tradition in a Bond film.

My least favourite is the original one, with Bob Simmons. He has an odd mincing walk, and then he throws himself a little too far when he spins round. Lazenby, in comparison, is smooth and perfectly measured.

I love the fact that instead of walking along, he turns right round. That's cool.

I wonder if in the next one, Craig will have on the tux for his gun barrell walk?

I wonder. Would be interesting to see him in a suit rather than a tux (as it was done back in the early days of Bond).

I gotta agree with you sands........Craig's is my favorite. I think it's cool enough, and being as different as it it....I like it.

The best gunbarrel ever is Roger Moore's FYEO Gunbarrel Sequence. Bill Conti's score gives Bond a BIG entrance, unmatched to this day.

Dalton had a great walk. Powerful but smooth, direct but graceful. I enjoy Dalton's gunbarrel sequences the most.

P.S. The gunbarrel sequence in the TND Trailer...AWESOME!

Yeah, that pretty much goes for the actual Bond films.

Craigs sequence is the best because he's about to get blasted from behind but quickly picks up his gun, spins around and plants a bullet in the guy's brain. Slick, stylish and brutal. Bond's a dangerous killer in this movie and his gunbarrel sequence reflects this.
