I know a lot of people are opposed to the idea but this is for a hypothetical what if? Who would you cast opposite of Tom Hardy's Venom? It probably won't be a teenage Spider-Man because of what Marvel is currently doing.

I forgot to add Ansel Elgort, I think he'd be pretty high on Sony's list, given that he's in their new film Baby Driver. Also Pascal was in favor of him too. I'd still hope Dylan gets it, though. Being a supporting player Spidey would be a good constellation prize.

RIP to the greatest Spider-Man that never was. At least, he got to briefly voice a character in that vein.

I'd cast Bret Harrison.

Andrew Garfield (with the associated ASM connection).

Assuming that's off the table, though, I'll say Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Reunite the Inception/Dark Knight Rises cast. However, I'm not terribly excited about Venom at this point despite Hardy's involvement, so it's more of a for the sake of argument thing (and if Black Cat/Silver Sable happens).

Gordon-Levitt looks like the spitting image of early Ditko Peter:

Who are you referring to?

I'd cast Bret Harrison.

Love that choice. He was so good on Reaper. I also love JGL.

I think, if we do get someone actually cast in the role, there's little in my mind that would be bad for the role.

Off the top of my head:

Jake Gyllenhaal
Freddie Highmore
John Gallagher Jr.
Bret Harrison
Daniel Radcliffe
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Elijah Wood
Bug Hall

Unorthodox Picks:
Rami Malek
Steven Yeun
Donald Glover

I'd even be fine with O'Brien getting the role, considering he's becoming something more than just a YA actor with American Assassin.

Lol I was bored, then I saw this & I came up with a whole cast:

Dylan O'Brien-Peter
Annasophia Robb-MJ
Emma Watson-Gwen
Dave Franco-Harry
Alden Ehrenreich-flash
John Boyega-Randy
Nina Dobrev-Liz
Arden Cho-Sha Shan
Tyler James Williams-Hobie Brown
Ki Hong Lee-Kong
Diane Keaton-May
Jane Lynch-Anna Watson
Brian Cranston-J Jonah Jameson
Forrest Whitaker-Robbie Robertson
Kevin Spacey-Norman
Christoph Waltz-Doc Ock
Michael Fassbender-Dr Connors
Jason Mamoa-Kraven
Christian Bale-Miles Warren
Kevin Bacon-Scorpion
Jude Law-Mysterio

Despite one's opinion on whether this Spidey Cinematic Universe comes to pass, it's kinda fun to make up harmless fan casts again like we did a couple of years ago

It would be hard for me to pick another generic Peter Parker considering there will already be a classic looking Peter Parker in rotation at the same time.

I would lean more towards Miles Morales or Spider Gwen.

Tbh if this Sony pocket universe is going to work, it's going to have to be it's own thing.
It will probably function like Gotham. A batman universe without batman.

Everything from the Spiderman universe without Spiderman himself. Silver Sable will probably end up being the central protagonist of this Sony universe.

EDIT: Bringing it back on topic, I like the idea of Rami Malik. Aziz Ansari. F**k it go crazy with the casting.

The poll desperately needs a "None, because this would be a terrible idea" option. . .

Furthermore you guys want Sony having the proper side cast while MARVEL gets stuck with In Name Only characters like with Flash Thompson ? I'd rather Sony use Miles Morales with original side characters so that the two universes are in fact different enough in some ways instead of the fan base still getting ****ed over with MARVEL finally using Peter Parker

It would seem that the In Name Only qualities of the Homecoming cast are a creative decision by those making the movie, which would lend itself toward further characters being In Name Only, regardless. However, even if it was mandated by Sony that the MCU versions be altered, that ship has already sailed.

Speaking just for myself, I don't care about Homecoming, so I'm not the least bit concerned about the idea of an alternate universe taking classic characters.

Nicholas Hammond, as an old Peter Parker, he lost a leg and has been retired of the costume for decades.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man- Freddie Highmore
Mary Jane Watson- Rachel Hurd Wood
Aunt May Parker- Diane Keaton
Uncle Ben Parker- Nick Nolte
Gwen Stacy- Annasophia Robb
Harry Osborn- Austin Butler
Flash Thompson- Alexander Ludwig
Randy Robertson- Tyler James Williams
Liz Allen- Nina Dobrev
J Jonah Jameson- Tom Hanks
Robbie Robertson- Forrest Whitaker
Norman Osborn/Green Goblin- Ralph Fiennes
Dr. Otto Octavious/Doc Ock- Christoph Waltz
Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard- Ewan McGregor
Kraven The Hunter- Luke Evans
Scorpion- Jake Gyllenhaal
Mysterio- Jude Law

We could just pull out all the other candidates from the cast Spider-Man threads from 2 years ago. All the old faces will resurface: Asa Butterworth, Timothee Chalamet, all the Disney people.

It's Groundhog Day all over again.

Andrew Garfield is a good actor, but god he just irked me in those Spider-Man movies. I'd be very unhappy if he returned.

This should not happen. It would damage the brand. Just use Tom Holland and loosely tie it in to the MCU
