Just because there is nothing else to do and cuz I just put the orginal on my ipod I was thinking about a remake and a reasonable cast (even tho i dont think there will be a remake) so heres mine:

Robocop/Alex J. Murphy: Gerald Butler (or Hugo Weaving)

Officer Ann Lewis: Rachael Taylor (if she can pull off a american accent)

Clarence Boddicker: Hugo Weaving

Dick Jones: Rugter Hauer

Bob Morton: Anthony Michael Hall

Sergeant Warren Reed: I was thinking Don Cheadle but i dont think he would do it

What ya think?

Good choice for Boddicker, but I can't see Butler as Robocop. I would say Christian Bale, but after Batman, Robocop might be a too similar performance. Daniel Craig perhaps?

Red Foreman is Clarence Boddicker and Ronny Cox is Dick Jones let's leave it at that.

Someone said in my thread Jim Caviezel as Murphy, i honestly think thats a great choice.

the same cast as before, with the same sets, director, script, props and go back in time to 1987 to make it

Craig would u cool and he actually looks like Peter Weller alot

Then what would be the point if it were a carbon copy? Just wondering...

With a possible Robocop remake, I'd say make it more like a reboot.
Make it a totally different film, plot wise. Also, fix whatever mistakes that people thought was in the original, but at the same time, stay true to the tone of the original. I want new villains, not Clarance and Dick Jones.

my point is that this movie is way to good to remake.

Well, Ive only seen the first and Ive only seen bits and pieces of it and It was really awesome but terribly violent but if they would remake into a PG-13 movie then yeah

Like Halloween? Look I dont like re-makes either but lets face facts here, Sooner or later a remake of this movie is going to happen. Now a days in Hollywood people are just too dumb, scared, or lazy to come up with a new idea. Thats why there are so many movies based on other things like comics, toys, tv shows, books anything, whats the last movie that came out that was truly fresh? All I'm saying is no film is really untouchable when it comes to re-makes, not The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, War of The Worlds, Halloween, Assault on Precinct 13 and Escape from New York and those in one form or another were classics but were remade. A Robocop remake is coming people lol one day...............

Theres gotta be a way to make certain films unremakable (not sure if thats a word)

Do we really want to have Hollywood remaking classic like The Godfather, Goodfellas, Alien, Raiders of the lost arc, Die Hard...ect.

No. We have to take a stand... somehow.

Robocop really isn't worth remaking. But they will.

Robocop was a parody of the eighties, if someone tried to do a film about a cybernetic cop today it just wouldn't be the same. Let's leave a good film alone for once...

they would totally cut this movie's balls off if it were remade. they would remove the satire, the use of violence and the irony, so there would be no point whatsoever. if they want to do a movie like this, let them make Deathlock and leave Robocop alone

NO MORE REMAKES
NO MORE REMAKES
NO MORE REMAKES
NO MORE REMAKES
NO MORE REMAKES
NO MORE REMAKES

and so on and so on...

Here is my cast:

NO ONE!

You know why?

CAUSE IT SHOULD NEVER BE REMADE!!!

Robocop was done as well as possible already. Leave it alone. It is a Sci-Fi masterpiece!

Yes, this film shouldn't be remade.... but Hollywood will eventually though becuase if they did I bet Robocop would make a billion world wide on it's first day.... j/k

i think Caveizal would be great as Robocop, and the movie should be remade.

Why? Because there's a lot of great stories to tell with Robocop, and all the previous sequels were garbage. This would give people the chance to go back and create an ongoing franchise where the follow ups are actually good.

The only part of the first Robocop movie I didn't like were the Ed-209 shots where it looks like a choppy stop motion animatronic puppet during his battles with Robocop.

Then cast a sequel, not a remake.

So? It is a future setting. Just do sequels if you want to see more. No reason to remake a sci-fi classic. It was done well enough the first time...it can't be improved upon.
