It's strange with teens in Hollywood. They ALWAYS look younger. Why?

DigicWriter: Did you like Horn for the role?
Ford is an interesting question. Have't seen much from him except an Uwe Boll film where he looked like Sangster's brother.

I'm not familiar with the actor you mentioned, and probably should've said so earlier.

Ford's character in UtD is somewhat Peter-like in that he's smart and good with technology, and he's my second choice behind Hempstead-Wright.

It would be interesting to have a teen in role. But come on its standard hollywood to cast someone 3 to 6 or some time more yrs older then character age. Plus come on would you really want some kid to land the role. Alot is riding on this for both sony and marvel.

Marvel seems okay circling actors five years older than the age they are going for with Spider-Man. But 8 years like some people want here is just a tall order that will never happen.

Who's to really say though. And not just here. Castine could go so many different ways. Like I brought up in past. Let's say when they started they looked at 15 to 25 yrs old as lowest and highest cap. Who's to say that either a 15 or a 25 yrs old is who they go with. Maybe a 25 yr old was the best pick. And same if they went younger.

We don't know how all the casting auditions and rounds went and or are still going. Like I brought up we really only need some one with young enough looks for the next 3 to 4 yrs tops.

For the amount of time phase 3 is filming. And what will cover a 15 to 19 yr old peter. And again we likely only see hs fully used in 2 solo films if they are released in 17 and 19. With the mcu time line and all that.

So all I am getting at. As long as who ever is picked has the look marvel wants. And could portrayed the role as marvel wants. Who cares if he is 15 or 25. They only will have to FILM AS A TEEN PETER FOR 3 YRS. Then it really doesn't matter what age they are. Since peter in phase 4 will run from 20 to at least 25.

Just wanted to clarify that it's not Marvel who's doing the casting here; it's Sony. Feige is the one commenting on the casting and spear-heading the search, but he's doing so in the context of working for Sony, meaning that Tom Rothman and the other execs at Sony are the ones who will say 'yea' or 'nay' when it comes to the names that he puts forth.

Getting back on topic, I don't know if anybody besides me saw the news, but they're reportedly looking at Nat Wolff (20 years old), Asa Butterfield (18 years old), Tom Holland (18 years old), Timothee Chalamet (20 years old), and Liam James (18 years old) for the role.

Timothée Chalamet is 19 years old. Will be 20 years old this December.

^ Okay. I couldn't find out anything about his birthday other than that he was born in 1995, which is why I said he was 20.

I have something to say about Billy Unger, but this is just being avoided. I guess it's because my fears are right.
People say that Billy Unger can be both the jokey type and the nerd.
But haven't they forgot something? I'm talking about about drama skills. Can he even handle the more serious moments?
Can he act for real?

i like Asa and the guy next to Nat Wolff , the others doesn´t seem like Peter Parker material to me...

Which guy next to Chalamet? The one from the left or the one from the right?

the one just above Asa

That's Tom Holland from The Impossible and Locke. I know very little about him, considering to watch The Impossible tonight or until I get to sleep.

Holland looks older than 15-16 here:

Maybe that's because there's water all over his hair? I don't know, anyone can look older or younger in still pictures. Holland - isn't my first choice full disclaimer - is young and could easily play a teenager Peter, I believe.

My issue I don't know any of the guys skill well enough. But if these are last guys standing I not really feeling Tom of Liam for the role. And would be a toss between asa Nat and tim. But I don't feel to keen on any of them.

Judging by these candidates, it looks like they're going with the Spectacular Spider-Man 12 year old version of Peter.

^ People who are between the ages of 18 and 20 do not look like they're 12, so your comment gets you an automatic FAIL.

Half of these guys look like their voice hasn't changed yet.

Maybe Peter's voice will break in the middle of a quip. :o
