The Dark Knight Rises Casting Call (All Villains)

Id much rather have Ray Winstone playing penguin or even aHarvey Bullock in the next installment. he is a great actor that needs a great role where he can truly shine...like Bale...like Ledger...Like Eckhart....actors dedicated to there craft...

actors that i believe would help this franchise continue to shine..

Ray Winstone above-Penguin or Harvey Bullock

Ben Foster
-Riddler, black mask, or an villains really this guys got talent and can play great villains...

As far as Penguin goes I'm actually pretty much sold on using Ray Winstone; either him or still Robin Williams, but Winstone first. :word: :brucebat:

Not bad ^, I could deal with that. But still my Penguin, just put a few pounds on him:

I'm up in the air about Catwoman. I just like the Catwoman thread to look at hot chicks.

I've liked the Guy Pearce suggestions for Riddler.

Black Masks is a tough one because most of the other characters we're talking about have been on screen before so we can think what was right and what was wrong about prior casting choices. This one is fresh.

I saw Sean Bean suggested, I could dig that.

Uh, not too sure on Sirkis for Penguin; give him any other role in the movie and I'll be delighted.

We're gonna have to wait on Catwoman and see if we get any other better suggestions; so far I'm settling with Eva Green or Anne Hathaway.

I don't mind Guy Pearce for Riddler, but at the moment I have my heart set on either David Tennant, Mackenzie Crook, Paul Dano, Billy Boyd, or Justin Bartha. :word:

However Sean Bean's actually my top choice for Black Mask right now as well; I've also taken Viggo Mortenson and Joaquin Phoenix into high consideration as well. :brucebat:

My Serkis pick is the logic that Winestone, Hoffman, Jolie, Dawson, Beckinsale, Tennant and Depp are the Crispin Glover/Paul Bettany type choices for their respective characters.

Serkis is my Heath type pick, I think he could make a great Oswald Cobblepot, you just got to see him in my context but I don't know how to do a thought transfer but will show you as soon as I figure that out.

Hathaway is hawt but too, I dunno...WASP suburbia? Eva isn't bad though.

Viggo is disqualified because he's my DKR Bruce Wayne.

I've only seen this guy in The Last Samurai and Enchanted but in terms of looks, Timothy Spall really reminds me of the Penguin and seems to be a decent actor to boot. Weather he can be menacing or not is another story. As for The Riddler, I like Hugo Weaving, he can be both menacing, charming and charismatic at the same time like in VFV. As for Catwoman I personally like Charlize Theron for the role and Sean Bean for Black Mask.

Wormtail is more bumbling sidekick than menacing villain.

Weaving would be great if he weren't already an iconic villain from another series.

Just want everyone to know that when you think of people to play Penguin - they don't have to already be overweight. If I can break this place of only thinking of fat actors to play penguin, redheads to play Ivy and bald guys to play Lex Luthor then I will have victory.

Both valid points. The only reason I mentioned Spall is because he allready physically reminds me of the Penguin and it wouldn't take much to turn him into the Penguin that I'm used to seeing and have visulaized in my head but again I've only seen two movies with Spall so I don't know if he can play menacing well enough to pull of a serious Nolan style Penguin. But I do agree there are plenty of qualified actors who don't visually look like Penguin who can easily do the role as well. I mean I never thought in a 1,000 years Heath Ledger would be the definitive Joker when it came to his physical appearance without makeup.

I can also see what you mean about Weaving being iconic as well but me personally I can over look that. I mean Bale to me will always be Patrick Bateman more so that Bruce Wayne/Batman.

I can understand that point of view, since that's when he earned many of his fans prior to Batman. In fact if anyone was a fan of Bale prior him playing Batman it was likely because of American Psycho. (and I call b.s. on anyone that tries to claim they've been with him since Empire of the Sun or Newsies ;))

Yea American Psycho really put Bale out there, and deservedly so. What a great performance that was.

I mentioned Serkis a while ago for either Penguin or Mad Hatter. I personally would have him as Mad Hatter though, he has that kooky look to him, and I could see him playing a really creepy paedo-esque villain perfectly.

As for Ray Winstone? Anyone ever thought of him as Bulluck? I think he would nail that role. He's one of my favourite actors ever, has anyone seen Scum? If you havn't I recommend you download it or buy it immediatly!

I'd be really pist if they got Marion to play Montoya. Fortunately the thought is so unrealistic that I dont have to worry.

I don't even think Montoya would be in the third, they'll just use Ramirez again and have her do something to redeem herself.

I had no idea who Bale was going into Batman Begins, then I watched BB twice on opening day and went and got American Psycho, the Machinest, and Equilibrium. All four movies are now faves of mine, and Bale has been my favorite actor ever since. The guy is awesome!

There are some fine casting ideas in here, some terrible ones as well. I'm sure Nolan will cast the perfect person for the perfect role, he seems to have a real casting knack and I can't wait to see what he does next.

She can't redeem herself, she is reponsible for Rachels death. Unless she gives her life to save another, she is an unreedemable and furthermore, very useless.

I kinda wish they would have just called the Bullock-like cop in MCU Bullock. I liked him, it would have been a nice comic nod. I know they were originally going to call Ramirez Montoya but her character deviated so far from Montoya that it would have been just wrong.

Yea well thats what I mean, maybe if Gordon is about to be killed she could take the bullit for him. I think it could be a interesting reversal to how Gordon took a bullit for the Mayor, with Ramirez taking the bullit for Gordon that could deffinatly redeem her but at a cost.

Marion as Montoya is a horrible choice, sorry. Unless they just HAD to put her in and found a much more perfect actress for catwoman then hell, marion could be anyone!(well, not really)

Heres a poster I knocked up, Guy Pearce for Riddler, Marion Cotillard for Catwoman.
