Angelina is a very uneven actress. She can be great in one movie, then terrible in one. Girl, Interrupted is by far her most acclaimed work.

I saw the trailer of her new movie 'Changeling', and she looks ridiculously great in it(minus the last 10 seconds). I think this is gonna be the best work of her whole career. Im 99% sure she's gonna be nominated for an oscar this year.

I supposed one way to look at it is this: she's what, 33? When she got all that attention around the time of Girl, Interrupted she was a young woman and not really experienced enough to run with the 'Oscar fodder' tag. She was also known for being Jon Voight's daughter and Billy Bob Thornton's wife. So she's since starred in a lot of films that seemed to be designed solely for box office success, sprinkled in with a few films that seem personal to her.

She's now at an age where better scripts are likely to come her way, she's now a box office draw - and probably the only real female one at that - and she's got the money in the bank to care for her family. Maybe in five years time I'll be throwing lots more praise on her, as I do have high hopes for The Changeling.

I don't see how you can say she's a bad actress from any of those. Not taking a liking to her, maybe. But that should be separate from actual acting talent. Moreover...what are Ashley Scott and Rihanna's good movies?

Indeed, she looks amazing in this new movie. Clint really knows how to get the best out of actors.

Na i don't geezer, I'm actually quite picky. Its just that IMO she was brilliant in that role, one of her best along with Girl, Interupted. I just don't understand how people say she can't act, If you don't like the woman fine, but she can most deffinatly act. You don't become Hollywoods leading lady on looks alone.

Let me put it like this so you can understand it...I don't like her acting style. I just don't. Nothing you say will make me like it. I've seen Gia, Girl Interrupted, Bone Collector etc. I don't like her. Never will. Rihanna was a joke, Ashley Scott looks the part and certainly acted the part in Birds of Prey despite the fact that she was playing Huntress, she would have done a better Catwoman. Is that all?

I don't think anyone was trying to convert you, it was the more the 'she can't act comment'. Personal preference is one thing, but the woman can act. You don't like her and that's cool.

Actors appeal to some people while they don't appeal at all to others, no matter how much you can argue their abilities. I don't think just playing the part in a movie is the only degree of an actor, its also what they give off to people.

I've never been a big Jolie fan. Not saying she can't act, but she doesn't do it for me.
I can say the same and more about Nic Cage. I can't stand Nicolas Cage. If I could i'd beat the **** out of him, I just don't like how he comes off. I love the fact that his big movie "Bangkok Dangerous" did horribly, at number one for the lowest week of box office numbers for the whole summer, and that movie fell BELOW The Dark Knight. I love that, because I hate him.

My point is, I can't stand Nicolas Cage.

You can always say someone can't act. It's not wrong.. per se. If it's someone who can actually act, perhaps you gonna get laughed at.. but that's that.

I guess you havn't seen Raising Arizona? That film is a masterpiece of black comedy and Nic Cage is the funniest most likeable mo-fo in that.

I wouldn't say Robert Downey Jr was an obvious choice from a studio's point of view. Sure, as an actor it was a dead cert he'd be able to pull the role off. But his past problems with substance abuse still hung over him. I think Iron Man has really sealed his comeback, so to speak. I know he's been in a few critically aclaimed roles in the past few years but I'm willing to bet that he'll start getting more doors open to him now.

I dont think Bale was an obvious choice. Yes he has done roles that are a bit blue, but I dont think he was the obvious choice because of that.
