Welling would be great! I wouldn't mind Routh either. I also wouldn't mind if we got an older Superman, maybe even with some white in his hair

Every dude who's been up for the role with the past films that did/didn't get made. They can each play him in a different scene.

Eoin Macken perhaps. The shorter seasons on NBC's The Night Shift means the actors get plenty of time to film other stuff.

Bradley James might be another pick. He was on CW's iZombie and dyed his hair black for the role. His Damien show is cancelled which means he is available.

They're going to be looking at people who are in their mid-30s for the role, because that's how old the character is (he's around 35/36, and is a few years older than Jimmy, who is around 32 years of age and played by 35-year-old Mehcad Brooks).

Since Supergirl is on CW now, and officially part of the CW-verse whether via multiverse or some other form, it would be weird having Routh as Superman, since he's already the Atom in the same universe.

They have the narrative mechanisms in place to make it work, but since they're putting out an open casting call for the role, Routh is pretty much out of the equation.

I hope it's Tom Welling who can play Superman as he deserves his own suit. He could pull off the current comics Superman in Rebirth where he's married and has a child.

Whomever is cast as Superman, I just hope he looks like the classic Superman and that the big fat S sticks out.

Last time we had a Film and TV Superman at the same time was 10 years ago with Smallville and Superman Returns. Now we will have one again with Supergirl and MoS/BvS/Justice League along with a TV and Film Flash at the same time as well.

Hopefully for the mega-crossover. Should CW Superman appear in their shows beyond that, it should allow Supergirl to do her own thing.

It's literally JUST my opinion. He is not a good actor IMO. And I look forward to seeing a new take since I hate the actor and characterization of DCEU Superman. There's literally nothing wrong with what I'm saying, I'm criticizing a character and performance that I hate. Now we're getting a new one that's sure to be superior in my eyes. It's exciting

I think Tom Welling honestly makes the most sense. Superman already exists in this universe, why not make the Smallville universe part of it? Don't need to bring in other members from it, but I think Welling as Superman in this instance makes the most sense.

It won't be Brandon Routh because he's on LOT.
