Catwoman Fans I Need Your Help

Hey,

This is for all Catwoman fans. I have been a fan of Catwoman ever since I was a kid and really enjoyed the TV and Batman Returns versions. When I found out they were doing a movie in 04, I was really excited, but we all know how that turned out.

I want to write a fan script for a movie just for fun, but I want to know what you guys would like to see and how you would like it done. I know some of the history behind her, but not everything.

Please let me know which history you'd like to see, what you'd like to have omitted and what not, then I will decide and see what I come up with.

I am a Catwoman fan as well. I heard she was going to be in TDK, but I don't know if that was true. I don't spend a lot of time in the Batman threads. Well, I don't think Catwoman should ever have her own movie or TV show. That's where they went wrong. She should always have a big part in a Batman show or a Batman movie.

Selina Kyle, born to a ****ish mother and a father who seemed to hate her, ran away from home at the age of thirteen. To survive, she became a thief, later also becoming a prostitude out of nececity. Eventually ditching the life of ****ing for bigger scores, she became a high profile cat thief known as Catwoman, and used her ill gotten gains to make her way into Gotham's high society, possing as a socialite who simple made some very good investments. Soon, her thieving took on a Robin Hood like status as she saw the decadence of Gotham's East End in comparison to her own wealth. Her ally through all of this is Holly, another, younger prostitute who Selina befriended and is now her confidant. At some point, she discovers that the reason her father hated her is because her mother had cheated on him with crime boss Carmine Falcone, and she was his illigitimate child.

I don't think a Catwoman movie should be too intense. Dark, definitely, but the character herself shouldn't necessarily be. I've always thought of her as a fun-loving criminal. As for plot, I don't think an origin story is necessary. Just have Selina as Catwoman from the start; the plot could be as simple her going on a caper, getting into trouble with rival crooks, then getting herself out of it. Imagine a heist movie with a sexy thief in black leather tights.

I think that debacle renders the chance of a real Catwoman movie nil, at least for the foreseeable future.

I dont think Catwoman should have her own film, IMO she works best when she is apart of Batman's story.

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the lack of replies with this thread. I actually forgot my password to this account. I just watched Batman on AMC tonight and it rekindled the idea of writing a fan script for this character. I apologize for leaving this thread hanging. I still really like The Question's summary and plot, but I don't know if I like connecting her to Falcone since that would tie her to Batman Begins too easily. What about her sister, Maggie? A better plot, to me, would be the murder of her sister and seeking justice while still being a thief in her own right.

I know it's been a long time since I posted this thread, but I'd still like to get the fans' thoughts about what should be done. I really like the idea of an origin story, followed by the murder of her sister and trying to bring her killer to justice.

If anyone's still interested, just share your thoughts.

It's okay.

I like the costume, actually--sleek, sexy, and one I can actually see working in real life and in the movies.

Here's the same costume with a different artist, maybe that can help show you what I mean:

It's essentially the modern take on her--the protector of the East End, Gotham's biggest slum. She doesn't really steal, more like a modern-day Robin Hood. However, she isn't such a pure vigilantie, like Bats--she'll kill if she absolutely has to.

I'm not sure what else I can say, except read it. I'm pretty sure his whole run is collected in trade paperback.

Well, I actually like that version of the costume better than the previous one. I just thought writing a script would be fun and give me something to do. I've read up her history on Wikipedia, so that has been helpful...The opening is swirling around in my head...I just want to write something that will respect her, even if it's just a fan script P.S. The only Catwoman comic I own is the 1993 first issue by Jim Balent, but I was a huge fan of Batman Returns, so I detest the movie they made about 3 years ago!

No I dont know about it. But even if the book is good its too late! the movie was terrible and they wont do an other one before flash JLA batman 3 or wonder woman.

I recently got hold of Catwoman no.s 1-4. She is quite well realised in these as essentially a career criminal who attains aspects of heroism only when faced with authority figures who are more corrupt than her.

I also prefer her to be a criminal because she is reckless and aviricious. I dislike the Millerist notion of reducing her to yet another hard luck story.
