Apocalypse Certified Fresh or Fresh or Rotten? The ROTTEN TOMATOES Thread - Part 3

Well its already lower than the audience score for Deadpool, Days of Future Past, X-Men, First Class and United.

Its still higher than The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 2's audience scores. And its tied with Captain America The First Avenger's audience score. Thats not too bad. Plus look at it this way, 74% is 3/4. That is not a bad score at all.

One thing this film definitely has helping it is that it, as far as I know, doesnt have anything nearly as controversial as some of the stuff in Murderbat v Broodingman in it. Lack of anything too controversial and a favorable audience score and good WOM will keep this film from being a box office failure.

This will not fail at the BO but it's not going to do spectacular numbers either.

For how long will it be though, its now at 73% so its still dropping.

I may not care for the RT much but I still want it to go up.

here is the thing a think a lot of X-men fans after seeing apocalypse won't listen to critics much on future films.saying fans should ignore critics gets postive reaction on social media.

so true! :)

Devin Faraci's review is cartoonishly vicious. He stops short of saying Bryan Singer is responsible for the holocaust.

If I remember right, Faraci was talking about all the "Bad insider reaction" he heard about Daredevil, the Daedevil came out a few weeks later and was a hit with Fritos and fans.

I would not worry too much what he says.

He loves hating on anything that isn't Marvel. I follow him on Twitter and he's constantly tweeting random garbage about Batman vs. Superman and X-Men.

No, he can hate on MCU stuff as well when he wants. He still hated on Daredevil before it even came out saying he heard from insider sources that it was bad, after it came out, he sorta backtracked but not much.

Faraci hasn't been a fan of the X-Men series in years so it's not shocking that he hated Apocalypse. It is a weak movie, I didn't dislike it but I do think it's a weak film.

After seeing it, I feel even more like the series needs a creative shot in the arm.

As much as I thought this film was pretty good I understand why parts of the film are not that good for critics as I experienced the same feeling mostly during the climax of the film but I don't believe it deserves such a low rotten tomatoes score. Positives for me far outweighed the negatives in terms my overall grade for the film but hey at least it was better than BvS imo.

I think Faraci is pretty insightful from time to time. I disagree with a lot of what he says, but I don't necessarily think he's a bad critic for any reason at all. Tune out the ones you disagree with and read the ones you do agree with per usual.

This franchise does need a creative shot in the arm though. The stage is absolutely set for that - we just need the person with the right vision to take X-Men further while also doing the same thing that happened with Deadpool with the other properties.

I think it's funny that on my flixster app for iPhone they are hiding the RT score. They must have paid top advertising dollars for that. Haha.

I just noticed this too, they only have the audience score there haha.

Has anyone ever done that before?

It was normal yesterday but now you can't see the RT score unless you click on it. Looks like Fox is aware of its mixed reviews.
