Random idea. What if Andy Serkis directs Black Panther?

I'd be up for it.
It was recently in the news, too, that Adam McKay --- the guy who doctored Wright & Cornish's Ant-Man script --- was in talks to direct a Marvel film.

About the Klaw discussion, check out the role description for Bentley Kalu in Age of Ultron...

typo? hmm

Doubt it's a typo, so much as a variant. Claw (Klaw) translates to "klaue" in German, so the assumption might be that's his proper name.

Denzel won't do a movie where he only appears for five minutes then dies.

I don't think we'll get a actual African as T'Challa.. but it'd be pretty cool if T'Chaka was African. Maybe a older big time African actor from those African movies they always play in the african hair salons would be cool.

Well obviously none of us knows how long the T'chaka character would actually be alive in this hypothetical movie. Not to mention there could be flashbacks, T'challa talking to his father's spirit, etc.

Yeah, I saw that. I don't think Black Panther would be a great fit for him. Obviously, we'll have to see what Ant-Man's tone is, but I could see lots of movies (such as Thor 3) being more appropriate in tone. Of course, he could also be in talks to direct Ant-Man 2.

Moviepilot thinks that South Africa is going to double for Wakanda in Age of Ultron.

It makes sense. Not only does South Africa already have a film industry marvel might want to use but I understand it to be particularly beautiful.

Durban for example has a lot of what you would expect from wakanda. Modern, wealthy and proudly african

The issue though is that from everything I have read about Wakanda, it's close to 100% Black. South Africa has a large white minority population.

Well S Africa does have one and dare I even say it let in stand in the movie verse. Wakanda could have some white people as part of the culture. People who ran away from Europe for the reasons that people fled back then but didn't go to America and wasn't interested in conquest, inslavement and colonization. They were taken in by Wakanda and they became part of the culture as opposed to trying to change it to what they knew and the society flourished. Some won't like it but it'll be more acceptable to the white mainstream as opposed to an all black nation that is the most technology advanced nation. I can so the studio not being to worried about success or failure.

Boseman is 37...born 2/2/77.

The other fan-favorite for T'Challa (and still my choice), Chiwitel Ejiofor, is also 37...born 7/10/77.

It's funny, Boseman is 5 months older then Ejiofor, but looks like he's in his late 20s or early 30s. Ejiofor, on the other hand, looks like he could be in his 40s. lol

Boseman is only 33, I don't know where that 1977 birthdate came from. Another site says he was born in 1982.

Interesting.

On the previous page, T"Challa said he's 38.

I got 37 from the front page of a Google search:

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=chadwick boseman

I'd certainly yield to anyone being able to find something more concrete, particularly a direct quote from him.

This isn't the first time I've seen multiple reports on his birth year/age. That's usually the sign of an actor not really wanting anyone to know how old he actually is, so he won't get aged-out for any potential roles.

Yeah I don't think Boseman is 38. I think he's early 30's. Still don't want him as BP. Think there are other better choices out there.

Does it have to be a known actor? Marvel should really hold a casting call for T'challa. I think they good find a better one that way. I prefer a black actor from abroad like Chiwetel Ejiofor, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, or Djimon Hounsou. I would love if one of them is cast but they all may be a lil to old if they are going with a younger T'challa. They could be T'chaka. These guys just has a class or regalness to them that American black actors don't have, especially the younger. Guys like Denzil or Laurence Fishburne have that it. I can't explain or put my finger on it but there is a difference. I say to Marvel to look for an UNKNOWN.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Djimon Hounsou were wasted in the MCU.

So was for that matter, Rebecca Hall.

Ejiofor is my current top choice for Apocalypse. He may not have the booming voice for it, but he does have the intelligence.

If Andy Serkis is Klaw, do you think we'll see him in this film as the main villain, or at least one of the main villains (the other hopefully being Man Ape)?

Yeah, I'd have to imagine that Klaw is the villain of a first Black Panther movie. It's hard to imagine otherwise.

How many Black Panther movies do you guys envision? A trilogy? Or more like one solo film, then just a key Avenger?

I figure he'd be the main schemer, with M'Baku and the White Gorilla Cult as his muscle. Maybe throw in the Serpent Society to attack T'Challa while he's still oversees. I think Quinton Jackson would make a good M'Baku, know that I think about it.

I'd hope for a franchise, he would bring a unique brand of espiniogue film that would stand out.

Like to see more than one. Don't really know enough about his comic stories though.
Maybe they can do some teamup and crossovers. Cap/BP Hawkeye/BP etc...

I could easily see a franchise because there have been quite a few really good runs or runs where they were limited in their time because of what they could do but there's still some good ideas there
