I agree with this. I want a great director above all, but I can see why they would want to go with a black director as well. Antoine Fuqua is really hot right now, and F. Gary Gray did almost direct Winter Soldier. If they just have to go with a black director there are some good names, but I want them to get someone who is going to respect the character and deliver something great. Don't care about their color, gender, sexual orientation, or any of that stuff.

I didn't realize Gray also did The Negotiator, which is one of my all-time favorite movies. Just a fun, enjoyable, way better than it should be film.

I'd like to see him get this. I'm more than happy with them picking someone who has passion and a vision for the project though.

The Hughes brothers suggestion is great. Visually and action-wise they're outstanding.

heh... conisdering that we got Johhny Depp as a Native American i dont see hollywood combing the want ads looking for authentic African actors! but i would like to see what's dude name Dijmon?! Korath in Guardians as
Man- Ape!

Man!how cool would it be with that dude, Klaw and Chadwick!!
I freakin cant wait!!

oh and i dont care what race is of who's directing.. as long as they do the panther the justice he deserves!

It's a shame Michael Clark Duncan is dead, because he would've been a great Man Ape and very imposing too.

Just saw this news. LOVE it. This is the first time ever my preferred choice for a role has gotten the part! I know he's going to kick ass and I love the concept art!

Hot damn... Just... HOT DAMN!!!

That the final product could look like this is very heartening to say the least. The texture, the claws, the mask/head piece. And a great talent like Boseman underneath? Just amazing. And he's going to be in a film with Evans as Cap? Man, seeing them fight side by side will be a pleasure with the Russos handling the action. Bravo Marvel.

2nd time for me, actually. first time it was d'onofrio as kingpin.

Boseman is probably the best young African-American actor right now, and after 42 and Get On Up he's making a name for himself. What a coup for Marvel to get him as Black Panther! I've been waiting forever for BP and I'm happy to see it finally confirmed for 2017.

He's 37. Just FYI. He's not really young. He's got Chris Evans by 4 years.

For some reason that Panther design reminds me of the Panther from the IRON MAN : Armored Adventures show. I liked that design and thought back then that it would translate well as a live action Panther look.

With T'Challa cast and Luke Cage coming soon, one major Black Avenger (excluding those who were also X-Men and not counting lesser characters like Rage, Blue Marvel and Triathlon) we have yet to see:

Yes, I know Blade joined the team in the Ronin disguise. But he's been in three movies.

Every black actor in Hollywood (which is basically everyone who rumored or rooted) is going to show up at the premiere. Ha.

It's interesting they went for the full mask design with solid white eyes as it is going to really limit Boseman's performance when in costume. That being said, I love the design, can't wait to see it for real. Not familiar with Boseman but I trust Marvel's casting decisions, they haven't made a bad choice for a main character yet.

Negative. That information is false.

Google disagrees with you. He is 37.

That's one of things I like about BP! you could never see his emotions!

But we wouldn't really want the half cowl design that Panther wore. Fans would be up in arms about that. It's definitely not classic and he would end up looking more like Wild Cat from the DC universe. The solid mask is iconic Panther. I would've liked the cuffs of his gloves and boots to be more ribbed though as a nod to the old classic design from the 60s and 70s.

So 37 considered old? I'm 39 guess that makes me an antique. lol

The concept art for Black Panther's costume looks stunning. I can't wait to see it on the big screen in Captain America: Civil War and the self titled movie.

Thats gorgeous, totally stunning, im really glad to finally see BP on screen at last. The inhumans and captain marvel as well. Plus all the DC stuff, my God this next 5 years are going to be just extasis

Man-Ape doesn´t make sense as a name. All humans are apes.

Your average teenager probably thinks it's old. Hell I had a buddy constantly call me old when I was in my 20's...and that fool is only 3 years younger than me, lol.

Some idiot on wikipedia keeps changing it. It goes back and forth from 1976 to 1982 practically every day.

His birthdate is listed as 1982 here, which makes a lot more sense.

That does make a lot more sense, he really doesn't look 37. I wonder why Google agrees with Wikipedia though, as far as i know they aren't linked. I mean it's not unheard of for people in Hollywood to not look their age. Now I'm not sure what to believe.

Like I said, I love the design, just wondering how it's going to work from an acting point of view. It's why Spider-man always ends up taking off his mask in the movies.
