So happy Boseman got the role. He was my #1 pick. Takes some of the sting out of the Cumberbatch casting (still hoping it's just a rumor since it wasn't confirmed today).

You and me both, man

Can't believe everything marvel announced today. Black Panther would be insane of it was directed by Niel Blompkamp!

Some idiot on wikipedia keeps changing it. It goes back and forth from 1976 to 1982 practically every day.

His birthdate is listed as 1982 here, which makes a lot more sense.

He graduated high school in 2000. If he was born in 1977, then he graduated high school at 23, which both makes it seem unlikely that he was born in '77, but if true, would provide a potential explanation for any attempt to hide his real age.

YAAAY for the African Batman!Yaay for Panther

I'm more concerned with having panther look cool as he can. A short cape would just top it off. Capes are just cooler

Oh god I hate to be negative but I'm just not excited about Boseman at T'challa. Yeah I've seen him in 42 and a little bit of him as James Brown and while he did a good job in 42 and from what little I saw of him in Get On Up he just comes across as way to Americanish. I don't know where he's from but based on how he talks he's from somewhere in the south probably, like Ga, AL or maybe even FL. It's a black thing, most of us can tell. I can generally tell what parts of the US another black person is from for the most part. The south, the Detroit or Chicago midwest region, I know. The only people who can fool me is someone who may have been born in a said state but was raised from a child somewhere else or a gay dude(no offense). Don't get on my back it's true and i know it shouldn't have nothing to do with Boseman's talent but he's just not BP, but I'm glad for him that he got the job and i support him 100%. I also hope he proves me wrong like Marvel did with GOTG.

I would've been happy if he was cast as John Stewart, Falcon or War Machine, but as BP?? I'm sorry but no. He doesn't have a regalness to him that's needed as BP. I just don't get the feeling that he can run a country and go toe to toe with Tony Stark in a war of words and intellect where as someone like Elba or Ejiofor can.

So Feige said he might be meeting Reginald Hudlin. He wrote BP comics and he's also a director. So...

I wouldn't be surprised if he was just consulting.

Oh God no, I had a horrible feeling that this could worse if they announce that Hudlin would have some involvement and it's turning out to be the case! Where the devil is Priest at??? Bad enough I'm on the fence with Boseman but Hudlin being involved will just tank my all my hopes.

Marvel please for the love of god do not put reginald hudlin on this project in any capacity at all!

Fortunately, I don't think Feige would have mentioned him if he was in negotiations for being director. He'll probably have minimal involvement.

-So, now that we know that a Black Panther will be in armor in Cap 3 and possibly AOU, perhaps there is a chance Denzel could be swayed to the part of T'Chaka. However, there's another member of the Panther clan who wouldn't die so soon that would make a great fit for him if expanded: T'Challa's uncle S'Yan.

So you saw an American play a couple of Americans and think he came off "too Americanish" while doing so.

He didn't mention him, he was asked about him.

Of course not. Acting has nothing to do with or the characters that he has played. It would be the same with Will Smith. Smith is just to American to me. i wouldn't want him either as BP. They just don't scream African King or Royalty. However I'm willing to give Boseman a chance to prove me wrong.

Yeah I know. He wouldn't say "oh yeah I'm talking to Reggie often" if he was an actual contender for the job. He'd kind of dodge the question a bit.

Yeah marvel should get a Wakandan actor for the part

I'd love to see Jeffrey Wright involved in this somewhere. He's top class.
