Richard Hains' financial thriller takes shape

Author Richard Hains' financial thriller "Chameleon" is headed for the bigscreen, with Richard Gibson ("A Message From Fallujah") directing and Hains producing with Mark Pennell at Resolution Independent.

Mac Gudgeon is adapting the 2006 debut novel, centered on a bond trader in Manhattan who's forced to flee after hatching a scheme to corner the U.S. bond market by buying $15 billion in bonds.

Pic will be set AMID the post-2008 financial crisis and will be available at the Cannes Film Festival's market next month through Resolution Independent.

The movie will be produced in Australia to use the rebate and tax incentive programs introduced by the government last year.

Hains is a 20-year veteran of the financial world.

Sounds like a potentially interesting and relevant thriller, There are a few more plot details from the book here.
