Chapter 37- “One of Us, One of Them” – Discussion Thread 9/29/08

When four ruthless, powerful Villains — “Knox” (guest star Jaime Hector), Flint (guest star Blake Shields), The German (guest star Ken Lally) and Jesse (guest star Francis Capra) — bust into a bank and take hostages, Angela (Cristine Rose) sends H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) and his shocking, new empowered partner in after them. Determined to derail a cataclysmic future, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) must first find what he lost along the way. Meanwhile, Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) track Daphne (guest star Brea Grant) and part of “the formula” to Germany, but run afoul of The Haitian (guest star Jimmy Jean-Louis). Horrified by her ability, Tracy Strauss (Ali Larter) leaves Washington, D.C. to search for answers about Niki. A distraught Claire (Hayden Panettiere) asks Meredith (guest star Jessalyn Gilsig) to teach her how to fight. As his romance with Maya (Dania Ramirez) intensifies, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) finds himself unprepared when his experiment yields some unexpected results.

That's how it appears, but I heard that there's more going on than meets the eye. Knox kills Flint, and then he gets shot by William Fitchner (on loan from Prison Break, ironically Heroes' 9pm timeslot competitor). Jesse shoots Fitchner but doesn't kill him. The German is about to shoot Jesse, but then Sylar crashes through the entrance of the bank in a school bus, killing the German. Jesse then kills Sylar and drops the Jesse disguise, revealing himself to be Peter. Then he drives off with the money.

I'm going to make some longrun guesses at things:

-Flint and Claire's mom are brother and sister

-The speedster is Adam's new wife and is working with him to get the formula

-If Maury is back, he is making Nathan see Linderman to use him as part of a bigger scheme (yet Nathan getting revived would now not make sense as much)

As for the new painting/world breaking in two, I think its a metaphor for people w/abilities vs those without, thus leading into the next chapter of fugitives, which may relate to the future Peter came from.

Not necessarily, since it's been shown that siblings don't often manifest the same power, although that certainly would be an interesting angle.

-The speedster is Adam's new wife and is working with him to get the formula

Adam is still buried alive, remember, so I doubt the speedsteer (Daphne) is working for him. My guess...it's actually Arthur Petrelli who had faked his death.

-If Maury is back, he is making Nathan see Linderman to use him as part of a bigger scheme (yet Nathan getting revived would now not make sense as much)

Oh, Maury was probably one of the escapees from level 5 to be sure, but I don't think he's the one making Nathan see Linderman. That's Papa Petrelli again. How? Perhaps Arhtur Petrelli, like his son Peter, also had the ability to copy peoples powers and, in this case, he has all the abilities of the Company's founders, including Adam's regeneration, Maury's telepathy, and Linderman's healing powers, among others.

It creates a great dynamic! HRG, the company man that does anything to protect his family is partnered with a company fugitive killing machine that has attacked his family and tried to kill his daughter. It will be greatt:

LOL if that's what happens. They all kill each other in the end. That's what robbing the banks gets yah. Money is the greed LOL.
I'm thinking Noah/Syler find out Jess is really Peter and help him. Future Peter comes to rescue himself. Can you imagine Future Peter holding Present Peter? Like a damsiel in distress? Oh Lord vomit galore.
Yah seriously though robbing a bank? Come on villains, do some thing else. Screw money, you could kill the president and get every thing you want. Awe well rookies

If they kill The German by hitting him with a bus, then that it a total waste of an awesome character. Especially since he's magentism, so he could stop the bus before hitting him. I was looking forward to seeing some awesome things from him.

Oh, I know that, according to the preview [blackout]Linderman is the one who may with Daphne.[/blackout] But that's precisely my point. I don't think that [blackout]it's really Linderman at all but rather Arthur Petrelli disguised as Linderman via telepathic illusion powers.[/blackout]
