    Chapter Five: The Prisoner

    1. I felt like that one started out a little shaky, but just kept getting better and better, and was pretty flippin' awesome by the end.

    2. I find it kind of hilarious that the quality of an episode correlates with how much talking the Mando does. :funny:

    3. Loved how the Razorcrest looked docking on the space station. This episode is the best it has looked imo. Same with the Mandos armor.

    4. Jokes about the accuracy of Stormies. :funny:

    5. Canto Bight... well as long as we don't go there. :o

    6. I liked how the crew was basically aliens from Tatooine during the OT era.

    7. So if the Mando and Tonks banged, according to the Mandalorian code, that means he had to keep his helmet on during the deed right?

    8. I liked how the station looked so tiny as the Razorcrest left. :hehe:

    9. Best warriors in the galaxy... yeah, Mandos are great. But they are no Jedi.

    10. I nearly jumped through the screen to kill Bill Burr for dropping the third most precious being in Star Wars history!!! :argh:

    11. I really dug all the New Republic stuff. The prison, the droids, the uniforms. First we have really seen of any of that. I also really liked how they clearly re-purposed old Rebellion gear for the prison guard.

    12. Special shout out to the New Republic droids that look a lot like HK. Also dug that they had the Rebellion symbol on them.

    13. It was so fun spotting everyone in this episode. Natalie Tena (Tonks from Harry Potter), Richard Ayoade (Moss working IT no less), Bill Burr, Clancy Brown (Savage Oppress), Mark Boone (Bobby from Sons) and Matt Lanter (Anakin from TCW!).

    14. Loved the call back to the trash compactor when the bolt went off in the prison cell.

    15. That reminds me. The prison reminded me a bit of Han's ship from TFA. Like they put a bunch of white and gray paneling over it.

    16. Male Twi'lek looked straight out of TCW and Rebels. It really is the little things.

    17. The Mando going Predator on the team was fantastic. Better yet, I loved that he didn't kill any of them. He only seems to kill when he has to, which I really like.

    18. Flamethrower to the face... it does nothing!!!! Not even the good ole door trick worked. Needed a second set of doors. :hehe:

    19. Every episode that passes, I feel like Gizmo can't get more adorable. But then they prove me wrong. It's all in the ears and dem huge eyes. Him playing hide and go seek was so frickin' cute, but not quite as cute as when he was confused by what he thought he did with the Force. The way he looked at his hand was just precious. atp:

    20. I loved the last bit of revenge. It was just... perfect. The setup, the execution, everything.

    21. There are few things that I love more then X-wings. So as soon as I saw them, I must have made a sound that was rather hilarious, because my brother thought it was really funny. Not my fault though. Nothing better then X-wings. :D

    22. The pilots being the directors were just the icing on the cake. That means we have seen/heard 4 of the 5 this season. Bryce has to show up right? Or did she already, and I missed her?

    23. 6 episodes down, 2 to go. And remember next's weeks comes out early, because of IX!!! So that should be Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. See you then.

I was a little worried going into this one after the last two felt rather weak, but this felt like a nice return to form. I had a great time with this one.

Famuyiwa, Chow and Filoni showing up in X-Wings was fantastic. They gave them absurd names too. Sash Ketter, Jib Dodger and Trapper Wolf. That's hilarious, I love it, and I'm also quite pleased about the Matt Lanter cameo.

You can tell the difference between the directors with a lot of experience, and those with less.

After not particularly caring for last week’s episode, “The Prisoner” was certainly a rebound for me. I LOVED THIS EPISODE! The three directors having cameos as X-Wing pilots placed a stupid grin on my face! :D

“Did you and he make that?!?!”

Now THAT is my kind of Star Wars humour.

    Great episode.
Classic heist film meets the Dirty Half-Dozen, I guess Bill Burr was the Telly Savalas analogue.
Loved Mando taking out the guard-droids as they watch every trick in his arsenal. Then the "hunt" as he picks them off one by one, fantastic! Can't believe he left any of them alive, frikin Mando code of honor.
He makes allot of questionable decisions to get episodes running, although at least he's aware of it.
The whole episode I'm like- really you leaving the Yoby alone again? bringing these mercs (you know you can't trust) on, with the Yoby on board? Really you leaving that R-A7 assassin alone with him? Really this whole plan seemed questionable from the start, how did you not see this?
Episode ends- "I told you this was a bad idea" :D

Great cameos in this episode. Didn't even realize that was Clancy Brown. I am assuming that Filoni is going to try to get all of his CW/Rebels crew a cameo. Unless they are playing their original character (looking at you Hondo). Gizmo playing hide and seek with Zero was fun. As well as his reaction to thinking that he blew Zero up. I see that he has his own car seat now, so good on the Mando.

I liked the New Republic security droids. I guess I didn't make the connection to HK-47. I did like the big trash can droids, though.

So two things. Bill Burr’s Backpack gun, while I doubt explicitly a reference reminded me of an almost 25 year old action figure accessory. Specifically that of Dash Rendar.

Also, does this mean Dave Filoni dies on Hosnian Prime?

Hmm, I see a lot of people praising this episode over last week, but to be honest I think this one was worse than Episode 5 and way worse than Episode 4.

With Ran, Mayfeld, Burg, Zero, Xi'an, and Qin we have entirely too many unimportant one-note side-characters in one episode. Five of them were introduced before the freaking title card showed up and I really didn't care for any of them.

The three characters from last week already weren't as interesting as IG-11, Kuiil, Cara Dune, The Client or Greef Carga, but this felt like another step down to me. I wish they had one or two of those characters stick around a bit longer, but we'll probably see some of them in the finale.

There were some nice references and a couple of good moments, but overall not really feeling it. The two episodes I disliked were not written by Jon Favreau, so we'll see what happens with the last two.

Doubtful. I highly doubt his character was still serving 20+ years in the future.

This was a return to full form after the previous two episodes. I think this balanced the trope better and felt more organic with his backstory compared to episode 4. Unlike the OP I do think the first half was slightly more fun than the second, but I liked all of it. A bit of cheesy Star Wars fun, done right.

I expect the crew that were left in the cell to make a return at some point in the show's future.

Now that is what I'm talking about. After the slight dip with the last two episodes I thought this was a really solid return to form even though it was another side mission episode. I loved the whole heist/ Dirty Dozen vibe of this episode, and we got some pretty awesome guest stars in this one with Mark Boone Jr., Bill Burr, Clancy Brown and Natalia Tena. I also had no idea that it was Richard Ayoade playing that droid assassin the whole time nor did I expect Famuyiwa, Chow and Filoni to show up at the end as X-Wings pilots, but it was a nice little touch.

Baby Yoda playing hide and seek was a highlight as well, but Bill Burr saying "Did you and he make that?!?!” is easily the hardest I laughed in a while and like Roose Bolton said the type of humor we definitely need more of in Star Wars.

Same here. There was some cool moments but overall I didn't care for this episode much. Couldn't stand anyone in the "crew" and they weren't very interesting either.

Was that a nod/Easter egg to Favreau's character from Solo?

This was is a return to form and what I expected from the show. Bill Burr and Mark Boone Jr. fit right in this corner of the galaxy. I really liked the '70s Star Wars/sci-fi set design.

Favreau/Lucasfilm need to stick with hiring experienced directors like Rick Famuyiwa.

Decent episode. I don't think anything will top chapter 3 for me unfortunately.

I usually like Bill Burr acting cameos but in this he was so annoying but I guess that was the intent
I wanted Mando to kill all of them

    was that Usha from GOT?

Yep Osha from GOT and Nymphadora Tonks from HP. I also really liked her in a little YouTube series called Origin where she played a badass security agent. She is very versatile actress IMO.

I didn't even know Bill Burr was in this show. I thought he hated nerdy stuff? But it was fun seeing ol Billy Red Face.

    I enjoyed this episode.

I liked this episode more than last week until the very end. It’s line we can’t have the audience thinking Mando is a killer, even though he would have been justified because it was self defense.

I just wish there was more of a sense of where this series is going. There are only two episodes left and no real connection except the adventures of Mando and baby Yoda. I don’t need it to be a story that affects the entire galaxy, but it’s starting to feel like we won’t be getting any back story for baby Yoda. Like is Mando trying to find his real parents? Or why he was abandoned?

I just see it as the adventures of Mando. He's just taking jobs and doing his thing.

    I dunno, I don't have a problem with it. I like it.

IMHO, Mando needed to get some money that was off the books and this was the only way he knew to do it. He's on the outs with the guild and he's still trying to figure out his next move and find a safe place to take Kevin.
