Iron Man. I've never been a big fan of the comics-I'm just not all that into tech heroes. And I have a low regard for Tony Stark as a character. Now 12 years ago when they were talking about Tom Cruise playing the part & all that, I was excited to see any Marvel hero on screen. Once the Marvel bonanza started, my enthusiasm for a live-action Shell-head dissipated. But when I saw him take out that tank w/that missile, I had to see the movie.
Gambit.jpg

Gambit. Again, just never really been a big fan of his. Powers are cool, but that's about it. I've always had a "can take him or leave him" attitude. But having actually seen a live action energized card throw & staff slam, it's hard not to get excited over Remy.
Blob_-_X-Men_Legends.jpg

The Blob. Just not that interesting in general, but I can't wait to see "Wolverine" for many reasons, Dukes among them.
Venom_Spider-Man_3_1.jpg

Venom. I know I'm in the minority here, but by about 2001 I was just straight sick of Venom. He was in too many comics, too many video games, fans were making him out to be the ultimate nemesis-I was Venom'ed out. I didn't want to hear another damn word about an alien parasite masquerading as a pair of tights. I found him overused, over-rated, overexposed & just plain over. But the film version is the most enjoyment I've gotten out of Brock in years.

I really don't like Iceman in the X series after seeing how annoying he was in the first movie. I like Iceman in the comics.

I know people love him in the Spidey series but Sandman shouldn't have been in the third Spidey.

I dont think there was ever a case where the trailer ever completely changed my opinion.

The pic of Iron Man was cool. The Pic of Joker was creepy. I think the trailer has always been the icing on the cake by the time it comes out.

Except maybe Liev's Sabertooth, I thought he'd be good but the trailer he looked incredible. thats probably the closest thing to what you're talking about.

I admit I was skeptical, too. I saw no reason to replace Tyler.

I'd never read it. Never felt the urge to. As the movie approached I was becoming more & more intrigued. Loved the movie & enjoyed the GN.

The real good reason to replace Tyler was his inability to act and the obviously larger role Sabes would be playing.

Great story the problem was making a movie interesting enough for american audiences to look passed V being a terrorist in an uber-conservative controlled society. Especially post 9/11. It didn't matter to me but I could see it being a problem.

I don't think of him as a bad actor.

Based on what? He's never given a good performance.

And they kept Halle for 3 installments.

Despite overwhelming hatred for her, I dont think Halle is half as bad as everyone says she is. Inconsistent and prima donna? Yes! But comparing her to Mane is a little ridiculous.

I disagree with you as usual, but oh, well.

Halle did win an Oscar but it definitely wasn't for X-Men. She is better in dramas but overrated mostly. She's done some good ones Monster's Ball, Things we Lost in the Fire and Bulworth was a funny movie.
As for Mane, I completely understand replacing him because they wanted someone who is a good actor in Liev and someone who brings a presence to the screen outside of a size. Truthfully, Mane didn't get a chance but maybe he wasn't good enough and I wish SInger didn't use him as a mindless sidekick to Magneto.

Leiv has the grin down but like most fans I wish he was taller and Hugh smaller in height.

I agree with both of these choices. I've never been a big fan of Iron Man, but after seeing the trailer, I was definitely willing to give the movie a chance. As for Gambit, I've been an X-Men fan as long as I can remember, but I've always been indifferent to Gambit and his appearance in an X-Men movie. Needless to say, after seeing the trailer, I'm excited to see Gambit onscreen. He looks great, and I think he is one of the highlights of the trailer. I look forward to seeing more of him come May 1st.

See,that's what I meant. I was, as you said, indifferent toward Remy. Now I'm pumped.

Hulk I originally hated the hulk but after seeing him in action in both the new Movie and the old Hulk tv show from the 70s I love him.

Iornman - I have aways dislike Iornman but I love his movie and like Iornman then I read x-men comics and now I hate Iornman

Watchmen didn't care until saw the trailer now I am pump to see this movie.

Wolverine - while I love the x-men mostly only Nightcrawler, Shadowcat and Gambit, I have aways hated wolverine and was original only going to the movie to see Remey. But after see the wolverine Trailer, I can't wait to see him in it, and I was indifferent about Emma Frost until recently.

The Punisher - didn't care about him at all until I saw his movie.

Same here, I hadn't even read an Iron Man comic prior to seeing the film. Since then I've only purchased two IM graphic novels, both of which were okay. I loved the movie though, my second favorite of 2008.

I don't see much wrong with Halle really, the writers never gave Storm enough to do for us to get a real impression of her. I'm more or less the same on Mane, because I never actually got to see him get a chance to really play Sabertooth, but I don't doubt that Liev is a better actor.

And Iron Man and Wanted were big ones for me. I was never much of an IM fan, and I hadn't even heard of Wanted before the trailer.
