Bruce Dickinson: Bad-ass frontman for Iron Maiden...now, screenwriter?

Appears so, various sources, including Screen Daily, are reporting that shooting began earlier this month on Chemical Wedding, a feature written by Dickinson and directed by former Terry Gilliam collaborator Julian Doyle.

With a title cribbed from Dickinson's 1998 album, the film concerns itself with a Cambridge professor who becomes the re-incarnation of occultist Aleister Crowley. Actor Simon Callow (The Phantom of the Opera) will undergo this Jekyll & Hyde-esque transformation. John Shrapnel, Kal Webber and Lucy Cudden co-star.

Focus Films is producing. The budget is said to be in the $2.5 million range.

I don't have any idea how this will turn out, but Bruce is a god so I thought I'd go ahead and post it.

Chemical Wedding is an awesome album btw

yeah I remember watching an interview when Dickinson released the "Chemical Wedding" album...(cool album btw) and he was asked where he got the title from...of course he said it was a film that never happened he was working on with gilliam. looks like its finally got there. Unfortunately, I totally grew out of metal, so I couldn't care less now! :)
