IMAGINE A STUDIO GHIBLI MOVIE...AND AMANO ART FROM FINAL FANTASY AND MERGE THEM INTO ONE! There's no firm release date yet (sometimes in 2014, and it will be downloadable on the 360, PS3, Wii U, and hopefully the next gen too.)

And it's from the producer who brought us 'Farcry 3' which is an amazing game. Seriously.

Child of Light is a platforming role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. The game puts players in the shoes of Aurora, a child stolen from her home, who, in her quest to return, must bring back the sun, the moon and the stars held captive by the mysterious Queen of the Night. Helped by her playable companion Igniculus the firefly and several unlikely allies, Aurora will face her darkest fears in this modern take on a coming-of-age story.

The game is largely inspired by popular old-school RPGs, including Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. Most of the core creative team is formed of people who worked on Far Cry 3, which both games share a similar upgrade skill tree.

It is set to release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014. It is powered by UbiArt Framework, an in-house engine by Ubisoft proviously used for Rayman Origins and its sequel, Rayman Legends.

Less is more is what this game is going for.

It's like what some people are saying, Square needs to reel it in a bit and rethink Final Fantasy. Of course that's not fair to part 15 (which could be great) but even since 13, the sequels and spin-offs, and the disaster of the original part 14, they need to stop 'Lucasing' it.

The last Final Fantasy I liked was 9, I loved the more "fantasy" Final Fantasy games. This looks great!

Yeah, I loved 9. Very underrated.

BTW, the most exciting thing about 'Child of Light' is a potential film adaptation, since Ubisoft has their own film studio (In which they have total creative control ala Marvel)

9 is my favorite of the series.

Hoping for a film adaptation so soon? I didn't realize their film studio was a in full control studio! There is a lot of potential there.

Watch Final Fantasy artist Yo*****aka Amano create Child of Light artwork

BTW, apparently I can't spell his first name since it contains some..vulgarity.

I feel like a FF6 remake would be perfect with this art style. Instead of making it as "real" as you can, just make it look like it's original art work.

After paying $30 for GZ and beating it in 47 minutes, I think this will be a bargain.

I hope for more than that in pretty much every game I buy

I'm going to be ambitious and hope for 10ish with some side stuff.

I hope it's on the 10ish side.

With Ubisoft making movies now, I hope they'll consider doing an adaptation of Child of Light one day...as an animated film perhaps.

I want to see if the game is good first before I start wanting a film.

Just watched the trailer for this on Steam. Looks pretty sweet. The music is AMAZING.

Didn't really appreciate how great this game looks til I saw it on my own TV. Great purchase so far. I do wish more than 2 party members were allowed to fight at a time though.

12 hours is very good for a $15 title. I plan on getting it pretty soon. May have to hold for a week or two, though.
