Fantasy Children of Blood and Bone

Looked up a bit on this. The premise is more or less Avatar: The Last Airbender, but with African mythology and magic instead of Eastern philosophy and martial arts.

What I’m basically saying is, it sounds super dope, and I want it yesterday.

I actually got the book last xmas. Haven’t read it yet but I knew they were also looking to make a film on this. Glad to see it survived the acquisition.

They better not mess this up and cast this thing with Yorubas and people who won't f*^× up the language.

Now this sounds intriguing.

If they're not going to adapt this properly then don't bother doing it at all. I'm aggressively going the purist route on this.

Well, it's a Hollywood film. So, I wouldn't hold out much hope for all that unless Famuyiwa and co. say otherwise.

Wish Disney would get moving on this (or give an update if they have started)...if they got money for a billion remakes they got money for this.

They've got the money but this isn't a franchise with large brand recognition. Disney loves brand recognition. Thats why they remake so many of their classics and rely so heavily on Marvel and Star Wars.

Nonsense. What brand recognition did Moana have? It went on to make $691Million and now we have this Raya and the last Dragon, again, what brand recognition? If they make children of blood and bone with the proper care and dedication, this film will easily outperform Moana and this Raya film too; and I say this quite confidently not just because the source material is based on my culture but because I have the books and the way this would appeal to universal audiences, especially black audiences; it has the potential for Frozen-type numbers.

I am happy to see Lucasfilm branching out.

yes, Young Indy series next

I’m happy to see this is still a project just hope it doesn’t fall into “development hell”.

Alright paramount let’s get this done and done right.

Disney is stupid for letting this slip through their fingers. Even if Lucasfilm couldn’t focus on it they could’ve had their live action division pick it up. Nice to see Paramount is actually making moves still.
