Ok, so the images are a little misleading and the Ambassador doesnt directly tell Rumsfeld to shut up, but it was an interesting piece to listen to.

Should we be worried about China going to war over Taiwan? Does the Ambassador have a point when he basically calls the US hypocrites in terms of our military spending?

The answer to both, I'd say, is yes.

There's a bottom line to consider. We can whip the snot out of china and they know it.

Another (more serious) thing is the more people china forces into itself the more revolt they'll have. China risks splitting like the soviet union.
I don't think china can take Taiwan without destroying it. and there is us and our (usually) unstated promise to protect Taiwan. Until we're off the scene this is just saber rattling. Even pretending that by some miracle they got Taiwan they'd undo everything with their policies. Plus our money would stop flowing in.

Not really.......our Jedi nuke power is greater than theirs. They have more soldiers, but that is useless when you have two large oceans in the way.

Right now with the newly-elected Taiwanese president Ma, I think Chinese government has soften their stance (they had very volatile relationship with the previous president), so I think think China will use the rhetoric on taking over Taiwan for the time being.
