Just like my Buffalo Wild Wings thread, this is just a thread showing some opinions of Chipotle Mexican Grill. While I was driving the other day, I saw a newly built Chipotle Mexican Grill, and I was like "Oh damn, we finally have one around here." So basically, vote on the poll, followed by some personal opinions, and be sure to answer these questions as well:

- How good is the food?
- Is the food worth the price?
- What is your favorite item on the menu?

Love Chipotle! It's one of my favorite fast food places, always get a Steak Fajita Burrito with mild tomato salsa, cheese and lettuce. Only problem is the salsa isn't available right now because of the tomato scare, so haven't been there lately.

I like Mexican food, and Chipotle is one of the Mexican restaurants that I love. If not for its steep price, I'd have visit one near my office more often.

- How good is the food?

Very good. The food is fresh and prepared before your eyes. And the simplicity of the menu is actually a good thing, because you know like In-N-Out, they are the best at what they do.

- Is the food worth the price?

I will say yes and no. The quality is top-notch so I understand that they have to price it higher than other restaurants, but it's still not feasible to dine there at a regular basis.

- What is your favorite item on the menu?

I always order the fajita burrito with either shredded pork or spicy shredded beef. And I always get the sour cream and their spicy salsa. In fact, I've asked them to apply extra coating of salsa because without it, the burrito won't taste as good.

- How good is the food?

I think it's great. While after a while it can get a little boring (not a whole lot of options, it's a pretty standard burrito place), the quality of the food is good.
- Is the food worth the price?
Yes. You get a lot of food for the money. It's also really cheap, like $5.99 for a burrito I think.
- What is your favorite item on the menu?

A chicken burrito (or chicken fajita burrito) with black beans and rice, cheese, salsa, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream.

How expensive is yours? It's one of the cheapest Mexican places I've ever seen, I think the only place cheaper is Taco Bell.

Well, $6 for a burrito (not including drink or even side) is expensive in my book. For $6, you can get a combo meal at Taco Bell, Del Taco, and El Polo Loco (well, maybe $7 for Loco).

To me, although Taco Bell IS ridiculously cheap, you're also paying for the quality of the food, and it's really more American fast food than Mexican. Where I live on the East Coast we don't have a Del Taco or an El Polo Loco. We have Chipotle's, Qdoba's, California Tortilla's, and Salsarita's. They all cost about the same and they all have the same concept. If you want any other type of Mexican food you have to go to a sit-down restaurant, and anything there is $12 and up.

Chipotle is the greatest thing ever

Haha! It's good.

I've only ever been once, in Denver. I can't find one near me unfortunately. It's like Subway, but for Mexican food.

Well, the expensive Mexican restaurants not including Chipotle and aren't sit-down restaurants around here are Baja Fresh and Rubio's, and their menu is more expansive than Chipotle.

Qdoba is better.

Chipotle is all right if no Qdoba is around.

Costs me just over $6 for a Burrito, which is pretty comparable to any fast food place by my work for the amount of food you get.

I've had it before, but not a big mexican food fan, so it's passable. The burritos they give you are big as hell, I had to actually take some of it home.

I guess I'm lucky in that area. Around my work place, we have MacDonald's, Wendy's, BK, JITB, Taco Bell, Del Taco, KFC, Subway, Quizno's, and In-N-Out Burger, all within 5 miles from my office. So Chipotle's $6 burrido is kinda expensive when compared with the dollar menus from these fast-food restaurants.

I've never been nor do i think i've heard of it. but i like Mexican food, so i'd probably would like it.

i love chipotle.

i used to go to one of the first ones built in denver before it became a franchise like 4 or 5 or 6 years ago.

i almost always get the steak soft tacos, with the hottest salsa, sour cream and cheese, and chips and guac.

He said it's because of the amount of food you get at Chipotle for the 6 bucks, the size of the burrito, compared to the horrible and small portioned food at any of the fast food places you mentioned.

My friend works at one of those. It's damn good.

Thanks for all of the input, guys.

There's nothing like being given a burrito that's small, but packed so tight it could explode at any given moment. There's a Chipotle about 5 minutes from my job, and my co-workers go there all the time. We all end up waddling back to work like penguins.

I'm fat, and I can't do that.

He's a bottomless pit, I don't know how he does it lol.

* Chipotle's Chicken Burrito (with black beans, rice, cheese, and salsa) weighs in at around 1,000 calories and 12 grams of saturated fat.
* Chipotle's Vegetarian Burrito (with black beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, and salsa) weighs over a pound and provides 1,120 calories and three-quarters of a day's worth of saturated fat (14 grams).
* Chipotle's Barbacoa Burrito (with shredded beef, pinto beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa) hits nearly 1,300 calories and three-quarters of a day's worth of saturated fat. That's the equivalent of a Quarter Pounder, a large order of fries, and a large Coke.
* Chipotle's Chicken Burrito Bols--burritos without the 340-calorie flour tortillas--are CSPI's only recommended "Better Bites" at Chipotle. A Bol with chicken, black beans, lettuce, and salsa, has just 430 calories and four grams of saturated fat. Rice instead of lettuce adds about 200 calories.

I still like Chipotle's food overall, and I respect the fact that their meat is hormone-free, but those calorie counts keep me from eating there more than 2 or 3 times a month.
