I've been doing some reading about the character of Lana Lang cuz before Smallville I had never heard anything about her and whats been going on with the character I wanted to know if it was based on something that has happened in the comics.
What I found out about her really reminds me of Chloe.
1. In the modern DC Comics continuity, she and Clark Kent, who was never Superboy as a youth, were and still are close friends with a certain degree of romantic tension between them.
2. Lana was a childhood friend of Clark, with a certain degree of romantic tension in the air as Lana had long pined after Clark who had loved her only platonically in return
3. The fact that Pete is the one she marries, which in smallville Pete was in love with Chloe but not Lana.
4. In the Silver Age stories, Lana often behaved like a younger version of Lois
5.In the late 1980s Superboy TV series, Lana was played by Stacy Haiduk. In this version, she was a lifelong friend of Clark, and she and Clark investigated all of the unusual incidents that took place in Capitol City whereas on Smallville Chloe and CLark investigate unusual things in Metro and Smallville.
6.The pilot episode of Superman: The Animated Series followed the "post-Crisis" comics, with Lana being the first person Clark confided in about his superpowers. Similar to Smallville but Pete was the first one he confided too.
7. In September-October 1952, Lana Lang leaves Smallville and arrives in Metropolis. She works for a time as a reporter at the Daily Planet.
8. Lana met young Clark Kent and began a friendship that has lasted throughout their lives. Lana displayed an early infatuation with Clark, often to the young boy's chagrin. As they entered their teens, Clark and Lana grew closer, their youthful friendship blossoming into a full-fledged . case of young love...at least, on Lana's part. Pete himself was strongly attracted to Lana, but she saw him only as a friend. This was a major disappointment for Pete, but it apparently did little to dampen his friendship with Clark.
9. The three friends, CLark, Lana, and Pete, were so often in each others' company that their classmates called them "The Three Musketeers.
Since there are so many people always talking about the similariies between Chloe and Lois, I thought I'd share some between Chloe and iconic Lana.
And because this describes Chloe moreso than it describes Lana, does it mean that Lana really isn't Lana?
