There was a time that Cocoa was proposed to be Banned in the Old World. The Coffee Houses saw it as competition, and tried to use the power of legislation to ban it.

Similar practices happen today, but with other products.

Now, if I didn't break out in a suffocating itch every time I ate it, I'd totally pick dark. It's healthier and tastes great (especially when combined with fruits and nuts.)

I'd skip the nuts part. That's what I'M allergic to; particularly peanuts. I have to watch the chocolate I eat as well, because so much of it gets processed in plants that also process peanuts or peanut oil in some capacity. Thank God for Dove; they keep the peanuts out of the equation in their manufacturing process, so I can eat their dark chocolate (couple pieces a week and I'm a happy man).
