Invisibility:

· The show will gain a hero, too. Claude, an invisible man played by British actor Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), appears Jan. 22. "He's been living with his invisibility for many years and has come to grips with it, so he'll give us a different view into this hero world," Kring explains. "He's big, imposing and charismatic, and will become a mentor to Peter — albeit a tough, reluctant and stern one. He'll help Peter learn to use and control his powers."

He's not trying to be a jackass. It's just the way things work around here at SHH!. One thread covering one subject. So this will either get deleted, merged with the first thread, or just left alone ... depending if a mod feels like doing anything. :woot:

he may not be trying to be a jackass, but i've seen enough of his posts to know that he's being a jackass.

TV Guide had an interesting bit of news about Christopher Eccleston’s role on the show. His name is Claude and he’ll play an invisible man beginning with the January 22nd episode. According to TV Guide, “’He's been living with his invisibility for many years and has come to grips with it, so he'll give us a different view into this hero world,’ [Heroes creator Tim] Kring explained, ‘He's big, imposing and charismatic, and will become a mentor to Peter - albeit a tough, reluctant and stern one. He'll help Peter learn to use and control his powers.’” While not as complicated as the time paradoxes Hiro presents, invisibility could be a challenging power to present without it becoming an easy fall back or cliché. Talk about the challenges a character like Claude present to you guys.

Let’s talk more about this after you’ve met the guy… wait a minute, he’s invisible, what’s to say that you haven’t already met him… hmmmmmmm.
Oh, man! So he could have been hovering in the background? Interesting.

Awesome, I haven't seen this bit of info yet.

I totally dig Christopher Eccleston, I thought he was fantastic as Dr. Who.

Invisibility? Meh. Not that it wouldn't be a useful or fun power, I was just hoping for something a little better for Eccelston, because mentor actors always go really cool powers, and Eccelston is a great screen presence, so I was hoping he'd get something on a bigger scale.

Great casting, sounds like a good addition to the list of already great characters.

Actually, I was just pointing out there was another thread specifically about this.

I'll throw my endorsement with this one.

Anyone else think the dude looks a little creepy?

don't expect eccleston to stay around long- he only did one season of doctor who before leaving fearing he would be typecast. he announced it after the first episode in fact. i don't see this as any different

Well, he's not making a very good effort not to be typecast in picking another sci-fi show.

Either way, I don't expect Eccleston's character to be around for too long a period of time. He'll likely serve his purpose and pop back out the story again.
