Christmas Movies

Maybe...

I never even got around to seeing Shrek 3 yet..

Shrek 3 blew goats for quarters...I pray that this special is better.

Yep...saw the ads last night while watching the Charlie Brown Christmas Specials last night.

The shrek special was awesome! That should have been part 3 and not the crap we got. I loved everyones rendition of the night before christmas, especially Puss in boots and gingerbread mans lol

The main 3 I end up watching:

It's a Wonderful Life
A Christmas Story
Miracle on 34th St (both)

A couple of people have listed movies I've never heard of.
:( That makes me sad. And aren't there any other movies you like to watch?

Btw, Sith, I found some old pics of you in the rp thread. Remember when Agent Pat said how cute you were and I said you were still ailbaitjay. :woot: I couldn't believe they were still showing up.

Whoa whoa whoa! I never said I don't watch other Christmas movies. But Santa Claus the movie has always been bothering me because I don't really remember it, but I remember liking it, but I saw it something like 15 years ago. And it's not available in Australia :(

As for Christmas movies that aren't lost to the sands of nostalgia, Home Alone would be number 1, followed by Santa Clause, Love Actually and Black Adder's Christmas Carol.

Any movie that has a drunk Dudley Moore battling John Lithgow is an automatic christmas classic!

"This Christmas" was great......

The bathroom scene is awesome......

christmas with the kranks

 ....moving right along...

I think the essential Christmas movies are:

A Christmas Story
It's A Wonderful Life
A Charlie Brown Christmas
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (both the cartoon and the live-action film)
The Muppet Christmas Carol
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Elf
Bad Santa
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
Home Alone
Christmas Vacation
Scrooged

Ok let me point out now 2 things wrong with the live action Grinch.

1) They gave the Grinch a love interest.

2)They gave the movie a villain. In a film. About the Grinch.

Don't kill me K, but I liked it. And I know you secretly do as well.

Yeah....so you would rather have a 20 minute movie instead of a 90 minute movie??

Socko I'll let it slide for you man lol but I HATE the sunovab**ch lol

Yes, seing as how they already got it perfect in the Chuck Jones special at a half hour....

But if your going to make an hour and 30 minute flick of it I understand you need to add some stuff. But a love interest and a villain for a movie where the main character IS a villain (and one of the greatest I might add) is just bulls**t.

Ok, you want to add a back story as to WHY he hates christmas? Fine I can handle that, but a love interest? It's the frigging Grinch not a romantic comedy.
Why not just cast Tom Hanks as The Grinch and Meg Ryan as Cindy Lou Who?!?

I really like:

Home Alone
Home Alone 2: Lost In New York
Batman Returns
Die Hard
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Gremlins
Edward Scissorhands

+ the newest addition: P2

I also tend to watch something from Star Wars OT.

All Rankin and Bass christmas cartoons.

Rudolph.
Santa Clause Is Coming To Town.
The Story Of Santa Clause.
I could go on and on about the Rankin and Bass stuff i watch.

1 Earnest Saves Christmas.
2 Any Tim Allen Santa Clause movie.
3 A Garfields Christmas.
4 Charlie Browns Christmas.

Lets face no modern christmas movie or shows can beat the classics.

Christmas movies that I love (in no particular order):

It's A Wonderful Life
Mickey's Christmas Carol
Die Hard
Die Hard 2: Die Harder
Scrooged
Batman Returns
Home Alone
Home Alone 2: Lost In New York
The Nightmare Before Christmas

I think without that stuff the character would have beem a bit bland. Yeah, it was poorly executed but it could have been a lot worse.

They'd have been better off making it as an hour short film for tv or something instead of trying to stretch it into a full movie, adding all of those things. Same for Cat and the Hat. But yeah, it is a poor movie, I don't know why, but I like it:o

Do you like Carrey in any other movies?

The Five Movies I have to Watch every Christmas are:

Meet Me in St Louis with Judy Garland.
Desk Set with Tracy and Hepburn.
The Lemon Drop Kid with Bob Hope.
Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.
Grumpy Old Men with Lemmon and Matthau.
