Christopher Lee becomes oldest man to chart on BILLBOARD at age 91

Lee in the pic is just going over all the methods at his disposal for eliminating Nazis. "Let's see... Exsanguination... Magik, Force choke... Golden bullet... I'm swamped by the variety."

"I've seen many men die right in front of me - so many in fact that I've become almost hardened to it. Having seen the worst that human beings can do to each other, the results of torture, mutilation and seeing someone blown to pieces by a bomb, you develop a kind of shell. But you had to. You had to. Otherwise we would never have won."

-Christopher Lee, discussing his service in World War II

Some Christopher Lee facts -

He is a 6'5" tall, a world champion fencer, speaks six languages, used to do all of his own stunts, has participated in more on-screen sword fights than any actor in history, his father was a multi-decorated war hero who'd served as a Colonel in the 60th King's Royal Rifle Corps during World War I and the Boer War, his mother was an Italian Countess and had her portrait painted by something like a half-dozen famous Italian artists.

Nope....it's my real name (this was the first site I joined after getting a computer, I knew nothing about "the rules of the internet" and just signed up using my name)....I just happen to also be a Christopher Lee fan.
hehehe....What a happy coinkydink! Though it's obvious you learned the rules of the internet pretty quickly. :cwink: I think Christopher Lee would be proud...lol.

Of course there's going to be the ongoing conspiracy on the Hype that C. Lee is his secret internet identity. :p

That pic of him in WWII Italy is the most jolly I think I've ever seen Lee.

Apparently dangerous missions and taking Nazis down was a good time.

^Dude was gorging himself on Nazi blood. Of course he was feeling good.

I don't think Christopher Lee is a psychopath.

Who said anything about being a psychopath? If you can't kill Nazis with a clean conscience then there's something wrong with this world.

By all accounts, few participants on the allied side during WW2 enjoyed killing German soldiers. Lee has himself spoken about the necessity of emotional detachment as a coping mechanism.

I am unusual in finding Inglorious to be one of the most moronic films I have ever seen; I find it positively disturbing that some people appropriate its morality as anything other than pastiche.

Nazis are some of the few 'good' (and I use the term very loosely here) villains to use anywhere as they are so hated and despised that if anything bad happens to them in any medium it's acceptable due to the heinous crimes they committed. Inglorious Basterds is just a mockup of the same type of medium so of course it'll have the lower mentality as opposed to an actual documentary or historical film. :oldrazz:

I'm sure this is one of the few things you and I will ever agree on...lol

It should be recognised that German soldiers were not all Nazi "believers", and that most allied soldiers found killing them to be harrowing regardless.

I don't want to sound uptight about this, but Christopher Lee is a real person who actually fought in the war and has alluded to some of his experiences and described the effect they had on him. I know that my own grandfather, who also fought in Italy and North Africa, would have been offended if anyone had suggested that he had enjoyed killing German soldiers. I know Mr Lee isn't reading, but we shouldn't think of him as a fictional character or associate his war record with unrealistic fictional situations, in my opinion.

He had probably just been wolf-whistling at some Italian girls in that photo, or something like that.

I'm well aware that a vast majority of German, Austrian and other Axis soldiers weren't full fledged believers in the Nazi regime and many were doing it due to conscription, patriotism and other things. It's just the fact that the atrocities committed under the Nazi regime can be left under the general term Nazi and that would just be a general term for all soldiers that fought under that name. After all there are many stories of various axis soldiers who risked life, limb and the safety of their own families in order to try and save those that they could knowing full well the consequences of getting discovered.

He's done some amazing things but we really shouldn't be saying he was going full 'basterd' on them or anything like that. He's still human and apparently a very nice one despite what he's gone though.

Aww... We can't make harmless jokes about a Dark Force empowered King of the Vampires using magic to kill Nazis? Like, at all? Mannnn........ :whatever: :oldrazz: :word:
