Supermarine is still the best. :) For me anyway. But the soundtrack overall was really great and enhanced the experience.

It's just so relentless, amazing track. I love that this motif was kicking in whenever the film moved to the air and we saw Hardy's character

Just noticed some OST pieces are credited to Zimmer's collaborators... yet people are still "Zimmer's the ****ing best" in the comment section. :funny:

Can we give Nolan some credit over [BLACKOUT]making the torpedoes look as frightening as the shark from Jaws?[/BLACKOUT] Some great direction there.

Also, and this may just be me, [BLACKOUT]but he seems to know how to end a film, either on the edge of your seat (TDK/Inception) or an emotional high (TDKR/Dunkirk).[/BLACKOUT]

Elgar isn't one of his collaborators...he's a composer from the late 19th and early 20th century. Nolan said that he specifically wanted his piece Nimrod to be incorporated into the score, and Zimmer being a huge fan of the piece himself was very receptive.

Sorry, your posts made it seem like Elgar was being confused with his collaborators in the YT comments. I get what they're saying now.

But eh, Zimmer using his collaborators is nothing new. Him and Nolan are still the main creative driving force for what those scores are though.

I'm seeing Hans Zimmer Live at Radio City this coming Wednesday. I wonder if he'll incorporate some of the Dunkirk score into his show, being that the film is so recent.

Oh snap dude, I'm going to the Wednesday show too! Can't wait.

What a spectacular film. For me it's Nolan's third best behind TDK and Inception but that's still saying quite a lot. The strongest points were Zimmer's score and the fantastic aerial shots throughout. This movie needs to be experienced in IMAX.

Should be awesome. At least, I hope it's great. I sprung for the best possible seats in the front orchestra and dropped like $350 for 2 tickets. :halo:

Congratulations to future Academy Award winner Hoyte van Hoytema.

Those aerial dogfights. I'm floored.

I caught it Friday before last and it was one of the best live shows I've ever seen. No Dunkirk at my show, but it was still a week out from release. I'll be jealous if he suddenly incorporates into the set!

The dogfights scenes were my most favourite thing about this film. Real, intense, visually stunning.

I wanted to pilot a Spitfire immediately after walking out of the cinema.

Deakins better not lose yet again.
Might want to prepare for the worst. I'll be stunned if Hoytema doesn't win.

Also, Tom Hardy is a treasure. Leave it for him to [blackout]spend the entire film in a mask and cockpit[/blackout] and still steal the show.

In my seats for the 7:00 show at Lincoln Square. My body is nahht ready.

I am just an Yank and it had a dramatic effect on me. I can't even imagine what the Brits felt watching this film.

I'm from a collaborationist nation so maybe that's why it felt underwhelming to me. :funny:
