What is your favorite book by Chuck? i am going to go pick up Snuff today, but my favorite so far is rant. i liked how effed up everything was.
i dont remember a man being a woman...My favorite book by him is Choke. The dramedy was perfect. Victor was a great protagonist. Really great twists. It has all the makings of some crazy epic scifi/fantasy and then it wasnt which worked much better than that sounds.
Rant gave me trouble. I was reading it and then all of a sudden a character I thought was a man ended up being a woman so I shelved to return one day, considering hes making a Rant trilogy. The idea was really interesting and different and I applaud Chuck for doing so but it had none of his charm. THe changing of the narrative voice lost a lot of the appeal a Palahniuk book has.
Snuff has me completely uninterested. It sounds like its being perverted for the sake of being perverted. usually I dont care about these types of things but it seems like a story worked around perversion rather than perversion worked into a story.
yes you do sir!I really liked Choke as well.
Lullaby might be my favorite...anyone read that one?
What I have read
Choke, Lullaby, Invisible Monsters and Fight Club
sounds like I have some catching up to do!

obviously u didnt read far enough because echo doesnt meet rant until about a third of the book in, she is quoted and such, but the story of how she met isnt until he goes to the city. But when I started there was no gender implied but because she was so platonically close to Rant I figured Echo was a man since friends at that age tend to be same sex.

and i dont mean to sound like a douc**bag
i wish you only the best in your journey through literature.no ididnt read far at all because I got confused and I was losing interest. Ihope to have it done as soon as I finish some other books. The same happened with the Dark Tower series. i just lost interest and set it aside so I can come at it again later.
has anyone actually read diary?
i have heard a few people cant get into it.
i am one of them.
