I will say, Thor looks to actually using Hemsworth's charm for once.

Unlike the competition who has a real tough time bringing out their actor's natural charm.

All of the movies have used Hemsworth's charm.

Remember when he broke his coffee mug? That was great.

Read the spoilers on JL and... it sounds good to me? Am I crazy? The visuals still look horrific, and the line deliveries in the trailer don't seem like they will help anything, but, man... I could generally enjoy this.

You are not. It sounds pretty decent. The fact that the Snyder apologists in reddit hate it with a passion is a good sign.

What exactly is there to hate about it?

Are they actually hating it for what it is, or are they predisposed to hating it based on the instinct that the plot will be Whedonized?

I have no problem with the plot outline outside [blackout]Flash and Cyborg digging out Superman's corpse[/blackout], if true. It doesn't really say much about the actual character work or dynamic between characters. Looking forward to know more.

Even as a Snyder fan and someone who likes his movies, that JL write up sounds okay to me.

C lee deleted the original reddit link. But there was a lot of profanity hurled at Whedon for seemingly innocuous things. It's kind of disturbing.

Yeah, it was the comedy from the other humans and spending so much time with them that dragged on the earlier movies for me.

The plot sounds fine for this type of movie. Let's see how everything else shapes up :oldrazz:

Definitely not in Thor 2. Did Hemsworth ever smile in that movie?

Yes, they kind of tapped into it a bit in the other movies, but not nearly to the extent we've seen so far. But Hemsworth has never looked like he was having so much fun in the MCU.

Might be as true as saying Vulture is Michelle's dad in Homecoming.

Neither Thor nor Hemsworth had any reason to smile in TDW. Thor had no character arc in that movie because the emotional focus was on Loki once again. Hemsworth ditched most of the press tour for TDW in order to work on other movies, and who could blame him? It must be hard for an actor who knows he's promoting a piece of crap.

Loki was the only thing that was interesting to the filmmaker.

Thor was just a secondary character in his own movie. Sad, really.

Yeah. Thor was as anemic in The Dark World as Tony Stark was in IM2.

I would hope that if those films were scheduled in this day and age that the MCU's quality control would be high enough that we would end up with better films.

Which is why I don't get the people who say IM 3 is just as bad. Tony is a proactive character with an arc. That alone makes IM3 better.

I say that IM3 is better than IM2.

However with 17 movies, and when you start splitting hairs, it's hard to put IM3 over a majority of the other MCU movies.

This. I feel like I was the only one who felt this way about TDW when it came out. The Loki focus was the main issue with the film. Too much of a good thing and all that.

At least IM2 let us focus on Tony, even if he wasn't necessarily "doing" anything. I wish they'd been flipped, where IM2 had given a huge amount of focus on their villain and TDW had focused on Thor just rehashing the first film until his plot was overrun by crossover setup.

IM2 might be the worst MCU movie for me. They completely neutered the "demon in the bottle" story arc with Tony so they could clumsily set up the Avengers.

It's definitely one of the weakest. Not surprised if it is the weakest for some people.

IM2 is weak, but it is still infinitely more watchable/enjoyable for me than Thor: TDW.

I think most would agree that TDW, Hulk and Iron Man 2 are the three weakest films in the MCU. After that it's pretty much just based on preference

Can't argue with that, though I would probably throw AOU in there also.

TDW is THE worst MCU movie for me though.

Yes agreed, and for me at least they are still fun to rewatch as part of a MCU marathon.
