Ya just need hope and a little bit of justice to overcome anything! :)

While the OP is a little overly dramatic, I do agree that some serious PIS will need to be applied to make the fight believable. Because, as it stands IM could one-shot Cap's entire team in about 30 seconds. Add Vision and War Machine into the mix and things don't look pretty for Team Rogers...

Caps team is set up to be the underdogs obviously. I think people underestimating some of the folks on Cap's team.

Winter Soldier is legendary assassin with decades of experience.

Scarlet Witch is Team Cap as well and she could single handedly take out Team Iron Man if she reaches her full potential.

Ant-Man was pulling his punches throughout his entire solo film! Hope said if he hit people too hard he would kill them. Scott is rumoured to go Giant-Sized. Also if Scott got make Hank to make him some weapons he could be even more dangerous. Ant-Man could neutralize most of team Iron Man himself if he got a working version of the Cross shrink ray. Zap Team Iron Man to the Quantum Realm and they are taken care of. It won't happen because the movie would be over in five minutes ;)

That Iron Man and War Machine are on the same team was obvious and inevitable. The whole setup of Civil War is that Iron Man takes the government's side and War Machine has always been on that side, more than anyone else.

I agree with chamber-music that Scarlet Witch has the potential to be a real powerhouse. She should be able to counter the Vision, which is the big issue, and neither of the team luckily has to contend with Thor or Hulk.

It's also possible that we will get Black Panther switching over to Cap, if he takes the Spidey role. There could be other twists as well.

As for zapping people to the quantum realm, I'm doubtful that things will go so far that they are actually trying to kill each other (which that realm currently is fairly close to). :)

The odds are in Stark's favor, but that's how it should be when Cap is the de facto protagonist.

Scarlet Witch is a wild card. http://www.ew.com/article/2015/09/13/captain-america-civil-war-scarlet-witch-elizabeth-olsen

No clue whose side she'll really be on. Sure, she doesn't like Iron Man or governments, but she's attracted to Vision!

I notice that neither Spider-man nor Antman are in the line-ups. :/ If Spider-man takes Iron Man's side (and reveals his identity to the govt, maybe?), he might switch sides just as he did in the books.

They have Maria Hill up there???! I suppose she will match up to Agent Sharon Carter, who seems to be on Cap's line up. Just a coincidence that both women are love interests for Iron Man and Cap, respectively.

Black Panther is a puzzler. In the books, he was in the Illuminati, though he declined to conspire against Hulk. Originally, he seemed to offer the possibility of being a peacemaker between sides, but supported Cap. In the movie, he's apparently supposed to be on Iron Man's side--likely because Hulk and Iron Man busted up Wakanda in Age of Ultron and his country wants justice.

The photo at the top is fan made.

Maria Hill isn't in the movie.

Ant-man is on Hawkeye's shoulder in the promo art.

In the trailer shown at D23 SW was shown in a couple of instances with Caps team but we don't know at what point that happens during the film.

Wakanda wasn't busted up in AOU. That was Johannesburg, South Africa.

All Ant-man has to do is transform into Giant Man. Problem solved.

Cap will have to use all his wits to come up with a way to neutralize Tony's team's advantage. If only he were some sort of battle tested, experienced, military trained tactical genius. :sly:

People seem to forget that. It's been shown time anr time again Tony Stark is not good on a team. He even admitted it before. Cap however, he's Cap. Plus, Scarlet Witch might be on Caps team too. And Spider-Man may come to his aid as well.

Besides, Marvel always has a plan. They wouldn't be where they are right now, without a plan for how each film can play out successfully.

And as others have mentioned... ANT-MAN. I mean, if Scott could shrink Tony's team even temporarily... C'mon. Or go Giant-Man on their butts.

Funny you should say that since all the Soldiers,Government Officials, and Shield agents are on Caps side.
War machine could have easily disagreed.
Having War Machine and Ironman pitt against each other would have and could heightened the experience as well as further delving into the Cap Wintersoldier beef and storyline.
N I still feel killing off Quicksilver was a grave mistake and missed opportunity because it would have been awesome to have seen Scarlett Which and Quicksilver against each other.
Bringing forth the true meaning of Civil War Brother against Brother.War machine n Ironman Cap n Winter Soldier Quicksilver n Scarlet Which.

Not all the soldiers and agents are with Cap since War Machine and Black Widow are with Stark. But to display the difference:

SHIELD is not with any government anymore (and if you can say it still exists then most aren't even with SHIELD either) so they have all left long before Civil War. The same goes for Falcon and the military, and of course even more so for Bucky.

War Machine, on the other hand, has always remained part of the military so there's a clear distinction between him and the rest. He's the most obvious member on the government side.

Putting old friends against each other is good, but it has to make sense. Just as it doesn't make sense to put Cap and Bucky against each other, both due to that it has already happened and due to how events have turned out.

Why isn't Spider-Man in any of the promo images though? It's not like his role is a secret.

They want to keep Spidey on the down low so he'll be a surpirse in Civil War.

Why would they confirm that he's in it and which actor is playing him if he's a going to be a surprise lol

The vast majority of people aren't nerds like us and keep track of what's happening with the movies in production. They just see trailers and other media stuff in the marketing and choose to go to see what they find interesting, so most people probably don't know that Spider-Man is in Civil War. Most people probably don't even know that it's coming out in April/May next year either.

That said I don't think it will be a surprise in the movie, I think they'll surprise people by showing him in a trailer before anything else, which probably creates the most buzz. Spider-Man is the second most popular superhero so it makes all the sense in the world to use him in the marketing, but it will be in the marketing that's relevant to the masses.

Umm...Scarlet Witch can defeat Team Tony by herself.....

Team Cap is stacked.

It doesn't really matter- their debate isn't going to be solved by taking down the other team. This is a conflict of ideologies.

Beyond the fact that this has already been discussed to death, I have to wonder if the people who make this argument have ever read a comic book.

How many times has Cap beaten opponents who are way stronger than him? How many times have the Avengers as a group beaten more powerful opponents?

How many times has Vision been blown up, smashed, or taken out in some non-lethal way?

How many times have Iron Man and War Machine had their armors damaged or rendered inoperable with EMPs, computer viruses, electro-shocks, or some other doohickey designed to mess with technology?

The answer to all those questions: Lots.

This is confusing first Natasha is on Steve's side then some say she's on Tony's; what is the definitive team line up?
Plus happy to see SW with Capt.

I'd say Black Widow is a double agent or playing the odds.

The thing is though, if Black Widow is the double agent...would Wanda be able to get into her head and out her?

I can almost see/hear Scott becoming Giant Man and saying "Sorry about this" as he squashes Team Iron Man.

Tony has gotten his butt kicked by people pretty consistently from the beginning. Which will help the believability of him needing help to fight Cap.
