Would Medusa, 3 headed monster, cyclops and Hades be in it?

Medusa is from Perseus' story, not Hercules. Hercules did slay a hydra in his twelve labors, so I think that qualifies as a 3 headed monster. I don't recall any stories related to Cyclops and Hades, though.

There was the time where he dragged Cerebus out of Hades, so we could see him.

Cyclops was from the Odyssey.

Is anyone else a little bothered that it seems the Goddess Thetis role of the antagonist (played in the original by the awesome Maggie Smith) has been switched with Hades?
Thetis had her petty and vain reasons for setting the things in motion that she did...I dont see how they are going to change this to Hades.

I guess they're going down Disney's Hercules route lol.

The problem with the 12 labors is that they seem too episodic to be done justice in a movie, unless it's a montage or something. I think I might structure it in the style of Batman begins; Have it begin in the middle as it were with him being brought to King Eurystheus to be sentenced for murdering his wife & kids, and revert to flashbacks in between labors...

-Sentenced to "community service"
-Flashback to his mom getting it on with Zeus pretending to be Amphytrion
-Fights Nemean Lion
-Flashback to him saving as a baby strangling the snake & saving his brother Iphicles
-Fights Hydra with nephew Iolas
-Flashback to him killing Linus as a kid and getting away with it
-Hunts Eramanthian boar (needs to be scary as hell to top the last two)
and so on...

Hades's petty reason will probably be that he's jealous of Zeus so he'll get back at him by messing with his favorite son.

All this Clash talk got me to watch the original again. There's a scene that still creeps me out:

It's the scene where Andromeda pleads with Calibos to stop making her deliver the riddles. She puts her hand on his face, then he pulls it away and tells her to go. He then spots invisible Perseus' foot steps in the sand...and he makes this face as the music suddenly peaks, and the frame freezes, that still gives me the willies!

The whole swamp scene with him is creepy. The new Calibos looks laughable.

The trailer for this movie makes it look pretty awesome... but is it just me or does Worthington look kind of... out of place in it? I'm not saying that because I'm not a big fan of his... I'm referring more to the look they gave him. He looks like an NFL tight end in a toga.

It's probably his hair that makes you feel that way.

Yeah, I think that's probably what it is. It didn't bother me in the promo shots but once I saw it in the trailer, it just felt... off.

It's been brought up numerous times as looking anachronistic. I think Worthington said they tried growing his hair out but it looked terrible so they cut it off.

Agreed, The new calibos doesn't have that devilish look. I saw the movie again a couple of weeks ago and it still kicks ass.

yeah i agree he is better fit with shorter hair
He looks ridiculous with that short hair cut. It just doesn't fit. He looks more gladiator/roman. But he does look frumpy with his hair in this pic. What if he wore extensions and had a longer haired look like arogan (sp) from LOTR. The actor needed to fit into the time.

Anyway, the trailer looks good. I will definitely check out this movie.

What about a movie based in Egyptian mythology?
Probably would be hard, it seems that Egyptian mythology lacks heroes that challenge or interact seriously with gods.

And a film all about the gods might be weird to see since alot have animal heads
i was thinking they could give it the "King Aurthur" treatment making them real rulers of ancient egypt before recorded history

i should maybe see the firstone before this one right?

im a big mythology buff, i taking it as a class now, rostam from persia would make an awesome movie in the same vain as this

I feel the same way about that. The look on Calibos' face when he's floowing the footsteps and realises somethings up used to scare me as a kid too.

The frozen snarl he makes as the scene fades to the next was scary as hell.

Jason Flemyng who plays Calibos in this film said that he was about fifth choice for the part and that Leterrier really wanted Tim Roth to play the character.

I loved the original and after seeing the trailer for the remake, I was blown away! This is one of the few times where I'm excited for a remake. I just wish Harry Hamlin would've had a cameo to pass the torch to Sam Worthington so to speak.

if i think about it roth has a good look without makeup for calibos

But does it bother you at all?
They had the chance to write a strong female character in as the antagonist of the story, which IMO would have worked because weve already seen that it can and they changed it. Instead they will probably make Andromeda an expert with a blade.

True. That seems to be the trend in Hollywood anymore. I can't say it bothers me though because we got Ralph Fiennes as Hades.
