List those movies it seems everyone else has watched and loved, but you just haven't gotten around to watching for whatever reason. Here are mine..don't stone me.

-The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
-Gone With The Wind
-Taxi Driver

The Sound of Music

I've seen most classics, including your list. Just not this for some reason.

I wouldn't say ashamed, but I have never seen Gone With the Wind.

Wouldn't say I'm ashamed either, but I probably should see...
2001: A Space Odyssey
Blade Runner
Raging Bull
Manhattan
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Gone with the Wind
Blue Velvet
Se7en
Sophie's Choice
A Few Good Men
And a few other movies...

But honestly I just discovered I can rent movies on iTunes (yes I'm a little slow) so I'll probably try to catch up on some of these soon.

Is it just me, or are there at least like one of these threads every few months?

Either way, Scarface.

Well so far I've seen every one of the movies mentioned here except the one I named.

North by Northwest
The African Queen
Chinatown

Every year I make a concentrated effort to try and knock off a few more classics from my list. I think this year I'll aim for:

"M"
"Citizen Kane"
"Schindler's List"

I would have thought just going through the American education system would have knocked "Citizen Kane" off everyone's list. I sat through it twice, once in a highschool class and once for college.

Im a little ashamedof not having seen Double Indemnity. But just a little.

I've never even heard of that movie, so what does that make me?

(Okay, I looked it up. Yeah, I probably should have heard of it/seen it by now.)

Citizen Kane
Schindler's List (although I have seen bits of it in Drama class)
Every Bond film before Casino Royale

I tried watching 2001 and got incredibly bored after an hour and turned it off so I guess that can go down

I didn't see Casablanca until a few years ago. It's definitely worth it.

Oh man, you haven't seen the Sean Connery classics? Go out and rent all the Connery films (except 'Diamonds are forever' and 'Never say never', which are both awful).

Also, Pierce Brosnan was a great Bond stuck in terrible Bond films, but the first one 'Goldeneye' is okay. It's still stupid, but Brosnan's charisma and Sean Bean's villain makes it watchable.

I would go ahead and say GoldenEye is one of the best in the series. Second only to Goldfinger. Unfortunately, Brosnan's other Bond films, as great as he was in the role, were very poorly written.

As for a classic that I have never watched and wish that I had:

Seven Samurai

I have seen Roshomon and Ran and others. I just keep missing out on that one.

Man, I even took a couple of college film courses and saw a ton of movies, but no one ever touched Citizen Kane. We just talked about it.

The sad thing is unless you grow up in a household that appreciates these movies, kids born these days will prob never watch a movie made before 1960 except for the big ones like Wizard of Oz.

I still haven't seen Apocalypse Now. Actually, all those war movies like Platoon, I missed out on.

See M -- it's amazing. I think you can find it sometimes on youtube.
