It seems to me after all the rumors and speculation about the end of the movie caused by these press screenings that something isn't right. So I decided to start this post and get a little intelligent debate going on..

With this film, and the heavily followed films released in the last few years, the studios are extremely well aware of the pervasiveness of the internet and all these message board, sites, etc.

Is it possible the "press" didn't see the final cut? Maybe they were missing a cliffhanger scene like The Joker at the end of Begins??

Maybe after
Batman's getting chased by the police
we see the remaining mob members trying to find a way to hide out Batman's identity and take him out when a guy goes "I know just the guy.. He's a little on the freak side, but he'll solve this little riddle.." or after
Batman drives off into the distance
a black figure is on a rooftop and we hear 'meow' or a mob member walks into the Iceberg Lounge to speak with a guy who can help with their bat problem..

I just find it hard to believe they were so smart with all these films, yet they allowed all these spoilers to leak on to the internet without hiding something from "the press" just for us.

What'd ya think??

Wow, bud...if your version of my thread lasts more than 22 posts, I'll be jealous lol :hehe:

/Facepalm.

Oh haha did you already say this and they shut it down??

I think it's a very reasonable debate, but the mods here are very tight on what they consider worth discussion.

Really, it would make really good business sense to do something like this.. Or at least send a bunch of fake reports of the press screenings so people don't know how it all goes down.

I wondered this too but then dismissed the idea b/c the press are under an embargo. Its the handful of reviewers that are leaking out spoilers.

Good call...and considering what extents they took the marketing to this time around, its something I wouldn't put past them. Regardless, we'll all know soon enough, and I will apologize to each and every member of this site if Harvey AND Two-Face are both undoubtedly dead.

I can't see how you can logically dismiss this unless you yourself were in the editting room of the film.. Press wouldn't know it because they kept it from them.

It's at least with discussion.

Still a little too much like taking someone else's word for something, which i don't easily do...know what I mean?

Harvey may die.. He may not..

But I can definitely see some scene right before the credits leading to the idea of another villain for the third film.. And everyone on this board is going nuts about it, but now if more than one person said this is how it is, everyone just says that's how it is and this guy's dumb for thinking maybe jusssst maaaaaaybe the studio knew we'd have someone tell us the film..

We've got to think of this through their eyes. It's not like they don't know we exist. You think they're not going to try to yank us around a bit for the sake of their business??

Who knows, but I sure as hell don't care to be flamed for wondering about it. That's just getting ridiculous.

I have made every effort to make sure I don't know what's going to happen, and you may know A LOT that I don't, but . . .

I feel like that if Harvey Dent/Two-Face "dies" in the end it will be in the cliffhanger style (as opposed to the dream sequence style) and that the stage will be set for the end of the trilogy. The 3rd movie exposing the dual nature of Bruce Wayne/Batman, Harvey Dent/Two-Face, and a yet-to-be-named character that is both good/bad and has a love/hate relationship with the hero.

I really wouldn't doubt it, Iron Man's press screening did NOT show the Samuel Jackson cameo..........

I don't see why this couldn't happen.

Spoilers ahead...

9 times out of 10...the press actually does get the final cut...theres no way we've been duped. My only doubts are this line right here from the NY Post overview (not quite review) by Sara Stewart

Director Chris Nolan's latest installment of Batman, shown to a packed IMAX house Saturday in LA, made good on many of the amped-up promises touted in its trailers: cooler new toys, groundbreaking cinematography, a darker tone and the genesis of a villain named Two-Face.

genesis meaning...an origin, creation, or beginning. So...why in 1 movie will we get such a great set up to a third without Two-Face?

Soo you think it'll be Catwoman??

After studying some quality management and how businesses can regulate the quality of their product.. One method is closely follow competitors.. Perhaps they've seen how Marvel's doing all this and they saved a scene for the mass release just like Nick Fury..

Because the TDK story revolves around Dent's story arc. His rise and descent.

9 times out of 10 huh?? Hmm.. I wonder what that 1 out of 10 film would ever be.. Maybe the film with the widest audience and closest following during production in history??

That's completely different, since it had nothing to do with the film's story, and it was a very small scene that was tacked on after the credits.

Taking this as gospel, it strengthens my thoughts that what was shown maybe an alternate version/ending.

Catwoman?

I did not say that, but IF Rachel dies in TDK and IF the Batman persona is to be confronted and IF Bruce is to find peace and IF Selina Kyle is introduced and IF she is not a man-hating lesbian prostitute, and IF Batman-Nolan 3 is an ending then, yeah, that's what I'm thinking. :yay:

too bad that the mention of Selina at the end (as a very old spoiler told us) probably won't be in the movie !:csad::o
