Cold Reading for a role on iCarly...

Theyre gonna call me up and tell me all the details. If this works out maybe I could work my way up to Robin *crosses fingers* haha. So right now I dont know **** other than what I'm going to be doing and what the show is.

The best thing to do for preparing is watch some episodes, get the feel for it and the comedy style.

Thanks dude. I really hope I can pull it off. Not to brag, but my friends say I'm really funny and I have a variety of comedic stylings. I think I'll be able to whip something up to impress these guys... hopefully.

LOL. I dont care if the show sucks, as long as I can be on you know.

No I'm saying, I just want to experience something like this. It's not about the money. This is a BIG dream of mine.

LOL. Does anyone have any other advice?

Treat it like any other job interview. Be professional, personable and respectful. Confident, but not cocky. Nail whatever the put in front of you to do and show them that you're not only talented but able to take direction and be easy to work with. That should help your chances. Good luck.

Thank you so much dude. Thats really good advice. I'm only 13 so thinking about treating it like a job interview wouldnt really benefit me but the rest was really good advice. Thanks

What I described is what any good interviewee does to land a job. Just because you're only 13 doesn't change that. ;) Good luck!

When reading remember it's TV and not the stage. Lower your voice just a bit. But make sure they can hear ya.

Break a leg.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

Thanks man. I really hope I nail it. And also, before I get to old I want there to be a chance for me to play....ROBIN!! Haha I'm such a dork.

Anyone else have advice?

Thanks Franklin Richards. Yeah, I'll try to remember that.

Assuming you don't get the part (which I don't because I'm sure you're awesome and will knock their socks off), don't take any of their reasons for rejecting you, nor the rejection itself, personally. They're looking for what they're looking for and if you're not it, you're not it. Take what you can as constructive criticism and disregard the rest.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to bring a small mirror with you so you can make sure you don't have any food stuck in your teeth before you go in. :yay:

Know that the audition starts the moment you walk in the room. Do not walk in in-character. Like jag said, be professional, but show them who you are... and hopefully that person is relatable, great to work with, and again, professional.

Don't be someone else. Be the best you, because that is what they cast. That's why there are directors.

And this may be easier or more difficult depending on what you'll be reading for them.

But most of all, know that you can do the job, and hopefully that'll show THEM that you can do the job.
