Pretty straight forward. What are some pairings or team-ups (actors, director/actor, actor/actress, etc...) that haven't happened, that shock you? In other words, they seem like totally obvious matches, yet we have yet to see them.

I'll start:

1. A movie starring Al Pacino, directed by Martin Scorsese.
Why this has never happened, I'll never understand.

2. A movie starring Jim Carrey and Robin Williams.
I'm not sure if it's a matter of money, but Carrey and Williams have both expressed tremendous respect for each other over the years, and Carrey cites Williams as one of his heroes and inspirations. It would be silly not to pair them in a comedy-extravaganza.

3. A movie starring Christian Bale, directed by David Fincher.
The dark, moody atmospheres that Fincher creates seem right up Bale's alley.

4. A movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale.
Two of the best of their generation (if not the best) squaring off against each other in similar fashion as the movie Heat.

5. An adaptation of a Stephen King novel, directed by Steven Spielberg.
Both men became extremely popular around the same time, yet their paths have never crossed. Spielberg has shown interest for horror with JAWS, and loves exploring Sci-Fi elements with E.T. and Close Encounters. What's the deal?

4. I was thinking that maybe DiCaprio would have a slim chance in TDKR as maybe Black Mask but I don't Nolan would want either of them outshining each other.

Abbott, Costello, Laurel and Hardy.

Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp in Let's Chew Some Scenery.

All of your choices I agree with, big time! As well as Rowsdowers.

DiCaprio and Bale have been attatched to a number of the same roles at various times. Despite Bales more common willingness to take supporting roles, I can see how they've never ended up in the same films. Shame, though it'd be tight.

I was going to go with a Leo/Tarantino matchup but then I remembered we're most likely getting that next year with Django Unchained!

All of the above

Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp in Let's Chew Some Scenery.

This would be great. I'm hoping either Depp shows up in Sherlock Holmes 3 or Downey pops up in Pirates 5.

RDJ and Bale man.

And Bale and DiCaprio together would be explosive.

I'd be on board with Depp in Sherlock 3 (just as long as he's not wearing a f**king top hat for the 5 millionth time) but I hope RDJ has the good sense to stay away from the Pirates franchise, which has been flying on autopilot since... honestly, halfway through the first movie.

You know they are going to appear in Justice League together, right? Bale as Batman and Leo as Aquaman. :cwink:

Spielberg did buy the rights for The Talisman way back when the novel was released. It's odd that this project seems to be doomed to be forever stuck in development hell. Especially after the success of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings

I've always wanted to see Robert Downey Jr and Jeff Goldblum work together...

I want to see Eastwood do one more Western before he hangs it up, in which Timothy Olyphant either plays his son or a younger version of him.

Christopher Nolan and the following actors;

Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Daniel Day Lewis, Viggo Mortensen, Russell Crowe, Brad Pitt.

Ridley Scott and Christian Bale.

Guillermo Del Toro and Johnny Depp/Nicolas Cage

Tony Scott and Arnold Schwarzenegger

Michael Mann and Bruce Willis

Robert Downey Jr and Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage and Arnold Schwarzenegger

Al Pacino and Joe Pesci

Matt Damon and Christian Bale

Russell Crowe and Martin Scorsese

I'd love to see Johnny Depp work with Leo DiCaprio again. They've both come a long way in the last 18 years.

I'm surprised Tim Burton/Steve Buscemi and Tim Burton/Christina Ricci haven't worked together a second time.

I would like to see Johnny Depp and Sam Raimi do something together.

I am a bit surprised we have not seen a second movie between Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. Or even a second movie between Washington and Tom Hanks.

Having said that:

- Paul Giamatti and Steve Buscemi
- Denzel Washington and Will Smith
- Tom Hanks and Steve Martin (they are real life friends though)
- Rosario Dawson and Zoe Saldana (what guy would not want that?)
- Paul Giamatti and William H. Macy
- Will Smith and Quentin Tarantino (Will had a chance to work with him, but blew it)
- Ron Howard and the following Actors: Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Javier Bardem, Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, Harrison Ford (as director and actor)

I would pay big money to see a Will Smith and Denzel Washington movie. Doesn't matter what type of genre.

I would kill for a movie starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Gary Oldman.

Spielberg doing IT back in the 80s or 90s (or, **** it, even today) would've been beyond my wildest dreams. It would be like The Goonies with a body count.

:awesome:

I've been wanting to see this for a long time. And women would become pregnant.

I would like to see Johnny Depp and Sam Raimi do something together.

That's a good one.

Starring Jim Carrey.
Written and Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
In a similar fashion as Punch-Drunk Love.
