Ok, I've made a decision that it's finally time to catalogue my comic books, I've been putting it off for years, but its getting a bit out of hand now - i have about 4,500 comics.

I've seen a number of software products available, does anyone have experience, advice or recommendations for me?

I've always just used an Excel spreadsheet. It's simple, easily changeable, and I can carry my entire comics list on my PDA.

It really just comes done to what you want to keep track of. I mostly just want a listing of all my comics so an Excel Spreadsheet works great. If you are wanting cover images and prices and the whole shebang, you'd be best served by one of the online services that fills in all the information for you.

I use Comic Book Database. Not sure exactly what kind of features you need, but Comic Book DB is free. Works well for me, but I've only got about 360 books or so (including TPBs).

Ooh, nice. Gonna try this out. I was using Comics Collector Live which was fine for awhile, but their comic database wasn't very extensive and the submission process to add comics to the database was a nightmare.

im gonna give this a look as well............wall crawl u have the best avatar ive seen on here by far ...i thought it was very funny

Thanks guys

I'll check out the comic collector database. I'm really after something fairly simplistic, the excel idea would have been fine, but i was hoping to find something which might speed up the data inputting process
