I've basically gone through most of the comic flicks we've had, and pretty much every final fight has taken place at night, mostly due to it being more "ominous" I assume. The only one that was during the day I can recall is X2. Are there any more?

Dude, I was just thinking about this the other day. I know CGI looks better during the day so that's why I came to that conclusion.

Superman I and Superman Returns actually took place during the day as well.

I think The Phantom did. There aren't many Comic movies that have final battles during the day at all. It pretty much is because they want to hide the special effects in the darkness so the CGI doesn't look fake, except for animated movies of course.

Swamp Thing, Supergirl, 300, Flash Gordon, Howard The Duck, Captain America, and LXG.

I'm pretty sure Spiderman 2 did

Nope. The warehouse battle with Doc Ock took place at night.

even though I've tried to erase it from memory the fight between Sandman and Spidey In Spiderman 3 took place in the daytime. Where he forgave him for killing Uncle Ben and just let him blissfully float away. All the while forgetting that he robbed an armored truck and the attempted murder of the bank guards.geez!

All of those except 300 suck, so yeah they don't count.

That wasn't the final climax. The final one was with Venom.

i thought if a battle happen at the end it was the climax? Oops! see how my recollection of that movie has faded.:woot:

300
Barb Wire
Batman: The Movie (1966)
Captain America (1990)
The Incredibles
LXG
Superman: The Movie
Superman III
Superman IV: The Quest For Peace (battle fought in space, but it was during the day)
Superman Returns
Supergirl
Swamp Thing
X2: X-Men United

I can't remember the finales for either "Ghost Rider" or "Elektra" but outside of those two, I think this might be all of them...Of course you could also count the "Blade" Trilogy in which all three finales, while beginning at night, didn't end until the day...same with "Spider-Man 3."

CFE

"Ghost Rider" technically ended during the day; the sun had started to come up, which was why he had to maneuver through shadows to fight Blackheart. Elektra concluded at night.
And there's a difference between "climax" & "ending". "Spider-Man 3's final conflict was still at night, as was the case w/the "Blade" movies.

People are forgetting a rather big one here:

TRANSFORMERS! Excellent finale that was all in the daytime.

Not a comic movie. But then neither is "The Incredibles". People often limit the answers with the title of the thread.

Yeah well, until someone lays down the law defining the exact boundaries between "comicbook movies", "superhero movies" and "comicbook superhero movies", you're gonna get answers like that.

Transformers as a franchise has hundreds of comicbooks to its name. The Incredibles and Unbreakable are arguably superhero movies. What about Wanted? Based on comics, not really about superheroes, but more than for instance 300. Ghost World and From Hell are based on comics, but should they be included in this thread on that merit? Etcetera...

Beetlejuice: Anal fanboys...ya know I hate 'em.

Speaking of Wanted that movies climax is during the day.

How exactly, when it has countless comics dating back to the early 80's?

Not to mention the sequel is going for a storyline directly from the comics.

Hellboy II technically has its climax during the day. Although, considering it takes place in an underground chamber it doesn't really make a difference.
