A thread dedicated to highlighting shots from the trailer and matching them up with their graphic novel panel, overall showing how faithful/unfaithful that particular shot was. I think this is a worthy thread on its own rather than folding in with other discussions, so I figured I'd go for it.

If you want to include some of the released stills then sure, I'd just like to see how it all compares together. I'm especially interested in the notion of seeing 2 panels following on from each other compared to a moving image from the trailer and see how Synder fills the gaps.

Yeah, the only difference I noticed is Morgan's haircut, which no way looks like Blake's. But that's my only concern.

Any other comparison pics? :)

In that Comedian Flamethrower pic, doesn't the younger comedian look a lot like Robert Downey Jr.? You can see it much more clearly in the actual trailer.

Yeah, the only differenc eis that he looks bigger. But I noticed some similarity.

the main differences I'm noticing is that the comedian doesn't have his domino mask in Nam, and doesn't have his gimp mask in the riots.

Wasn't that the only part where he actually wore the gimp mask in the book? I know we saw the designs for it, but I wonder if he'll actually wear it.

There are cuts of Comedian wearing the gimp mask when he rescued the hostages. It's just one panel.

I agree about his hair. It's a strange choice, IMO, as he always seemed to have slicked back hair. If we really want to nitpick, I'd also point out that in the Vietnam sequence in the book, he already had the gray hairs on his temples.

That's what got me confused. But on the recent pic, where he is about to rape Sally, eveything looks alright.

I can't ask for much more in terms of accuracy. You don't get much closer to the page than that.

I have a question about the teaser. In one shot we see (and hear) Nite Owl fall to his knees and yell, but when does that happen in the book? It looks like he's in Antartica during that scene, but that doesn't seem to fit. Am I missing something or is there some kind of change?

Everything in the movie looks like it was ripped straight out of the pages of the graphic novel. Everything but Ozymandius....

There was a quick scene of Ozy wearing purple and kicking the assassin into the fountain where he looked right, but that black and silver getup still bugs me. It's just not his style... and he looked evil in the trailer. I still have hopes that he only wears that at the end and they don't portray him as evil throughout the movie.

EDIT: to further prove my point:

The style is OK, but the color scheme is all wrong.

It looks to me like each "sequence" will have at least one shot that literally frames the comic visuals, and then move around. I love that approach. That's respect for the source material.

^^^

Yeah, but I hope it won't be similar to Sin City, which was 99% like the comic book, and I didn't reall like that. I mean don't we watch book/graphic novel/comics adaptations to see something new. If we get everything just like what was in comic book, then what's sense of watching the movie?

Yeah, and the motion comic has convinced me that trying to make every single frame like the graphic novel would be bad. Watching it I couldn't help but imagine how much cooler it would be if the camera wasn't so restricted.

It seems clear to me that there is some freedom with the camera, but he's putting elements of all the key frames into the movie. I love that.
