I think a tech forum merged with the games forum would be a good idea. The games forum is a desert anyways and it has like 5 subforums which are pretty much all desolate anyways. Instead of games call it Tech and have games as a subforum of that.

Yeah, frankly with all the crossplatformers out there, we can merge the Microsoft, Playstation and Nintendo forums into one. Then have a tech forum where we could discuss video game accessories along with the other tech stuff.

Pretty much have a forum where we can discuss anything in relation to High-Def TV's, home theater set-ups, cellphones, smartphones, computers and accessories, other tech and gadgets. Discuss, review, suggestions etc. Pretty much for all the techophiles out there that read Wired and Gizmodo.

It wouldn't have to be a new forum but a re imagining of the Tech Support Sub forum or a sub forum within the games forum would also be ok, I prefer the former.

I don't see why not. We could just re-brand the Tech Support forum, and use stickies or announcements to provide site related updates. I mean, if you look at the threads in the Tech Support forum right now, it's essentially serving that purpose already. So it's worth adjusting.

Agreed.

I know some others would feel better about it being official. I mean, Tech Support has always been more about "My computer blew up" rather than "Check out this new iPhone app!"

I have a question: why is the forum open to strangers (aka non registered users)? Every time you check the list of active users, there's usually twice the guests. Sometimes 3 times, like right now..

Psh... who wants to touch a screen when you can press actual buttons anyway?

People would probably like to see the place before joining. If I hadn't been able to come on the boards and see what was being said about the films I was interested in, I wouldn't have joined. See it as window shopping.

I think the photo album thread and some other things should be only visible to registered users.

Some to many of those guests are active users who just haven't bothered to log in.

If they can't see what the forum's about, how would they know if they want to join? They wouldn't be able to see the different forums, threads, level of activity, etc. They're not hurting anything by simply viewing the place.

..well, the forum's inside superherohype.com. I think they might have an idea.
