No one even said anything about my suggestion for an automotive section and my thread on "What kind of car do you drive?" was pretty popular. An entire section based on auto discussion would be great.

But moreso I'd like a cooking section. People could make threads about recipes and discuss cuisine. Every thread I've made about food always did well. And other people's threads on food are very popular as well. So it's not like it'd be a dying thread either, because people have to eat and everyday.

Food> cars

I don't think either of those sections would be as popular as you think they would be.

i'd have to agree. i think those are generalized subjects enough that they could remain in the community forum. i just don't see them wanting to break the forum down much more than they've already done

To go back on one of my previous suggestions that was pretty much unanimously well received. I think we either expand the Tech Support forum into a general techie clubhouse or maybe even expand the video games forum into games and tech. Have a subforum for all tech discussion. I mean, everything in the world is focusing toward the latest and greatest technological advances.

HDTV and Home Theater
Cellphones and Smartphones
Computers and Laptops
Gadgets

etc.

I know Malice would have a field day in a forum like that.
Yeah, I suggested a HD forum but a mod turned it down:p

I think a line needs to be drawn as to how many off topic forums a superhero board has.

I would be interested in both those subjects, but as sub-forums, they wouldn't do well enough though.

If there was a food section, then I would insert it as a thread into a fitness section.

I don't think there is a need for anymore sub-forums beyond what there is now. If there is any more division, community will be stripped of all conversation.

was it really necessary for the 'is it alright to hit women thread' to be closed?

Are we no longer allowed to agree with a celebrity's opinion?

could the post itself not be isolated, even though it's not really bad.

At this point I think we are set on sub-forums in community, at least for now. I think the only other forums that will be open for sure are based of comicbook films ie Green Lantern or Captain America.

Agreed.

my question probably affects the fan art forum the most. usually i'd just pm excelsior but i know he's been dealing with a lot in his personal life, so maybe someone else could answer or be helpful.

There is a monthly fan art contest in the fan art section. I'm not sure if this is still going on, but the winner used to be shown on the front page. If this still goes on,, if not, could we bring it back?

Also, when I first joined, and mostly lurked, I remember there used to be actual prizes given to the winners (ie: books, graphic novels, etc). I was wondering why this stopped, and how it actually came into effect in the first place.

To follow up on that, I believe SHH is much more popular and has lots more traffic now so would it ever be possible to go back into this practice? With so many films and stuff being promoted on the hype, perhaps they'd be interested in donating items and whatnot again. would help with publicity for their projects as well as promote lots of creativity from the hype users.

I used to enter the fan art contest but it has gone down hill a bit:o

actually i think the last few months have gone up a lot. there's a lot of top notch stuff this month. i'll agree there is no where near as much participation as their used to be, but there's some stellar talent over there

Yeah there is always stellar talent like Mattchew but I don't want to spend hours and hours making art to just win nothing and it fade away in a few days when the new one starts up:(

its not supposed to be something to make you do it. it's supposed to be like an incentive. we don't have prizes now and people still turn out top notch work. they make the art cuz they want to and enjoy the craft.
