After hearing some say that Mark Millar is the Michael Bay of comic books, if you could choose a comic book writer which movie director would you compare him to?

not many comics are written on a film-esque format

I know but comparing their tipes of writing in the comics industry with the directors making their movies, for example, there must be a Uwe Boll of comic book writing and Shyalaman's work getting worse with time are similar to Frank Miller's

Warren Ellis = Frank Darabont

i think...

Jeph Loeb - George Lucas
I agree a lot with that
But now, considering that it's Frank Miller who has been making bad prequels to his works i think that he's more like George Lucas

Oliver Stone is the closest I can think of for Frank Miller. Especially with Natural Born Killers.

Geoff Johns = J.J.Abrams

Ed Brubaker=Steven Soderbergh (both work equally well on big and small projects)
Jason Aaron=Quentin Tarantino (both have moralistic undercurrents in violent, R-rated works)
Darwyn Cooke=Steven Spielberg (the tone of Cooke's work reminds me of Spielberg)
Charles Schulz=Woody Allen (Charlie Brown was a lot like an Allen character, only far less cynical)

I think that Mark Millar is closer to Quentin Tarantino than to Michael Bay
And by the way
Joss Whedon = Joss Whedon -He's both isn't he? :woot:

Jack Kirby = Stanley Kubrick?
