Now I was going to dish out the dough for one of the all-in-one iMacs. Which I'm fairly sure would run everything I needed just fine. But I was wondering if a much cheaper computer running on windows would work just as well. Say a comp with specs closely resembling this.

It's a Dell.

Intel Pentium E5800 3.20GHz processor
4GB memory; 750GB hard drive
20" flat panel widescreen monitor
19-in-1 card reader, 6 USB ports, HDMI port
Windows 7 Home Premium

I know how to use a comp well. Just a little paranoid on not knowing my system well enough. Such as processors. Would I run into many problems? Should I just save for the mac? Any help would be swell. Thank you!

It sounds like any machine [new] nowadays would suffice just fine. Of course more power, stronger processor, more RAM, will always help.

I am sure a windows machine will be completely capable, what you really are paying for with the mac is the design [which for many they don't really care about] and the software.

I've been a Windows and Mac guy, and OS X is just more intuitive, and easier to use. While possibly more capable and knowledgeable users overall exists on the Windows platform.

Once I went to a Mac, I never looked back. They are not without their problems, but I had to self educate myself on how to keep my Windows machine running smoothly and never having issues. A Mac, one generally only has to educate themselves on how to properly use it. My two cents.

Yes I def. want the Mac more. Just don't want to wait to save lol. The software I'm buying is $2,500 alone. The mac is like 1,200. Add the wacom tablet and a few other things for recording quality sound effects and voices. That's a small fortune. So as I would prefer the Mac. If I go with another comp, I can save around $600 dollars.

But damn I want that Mac.

Yeah if you're going to be shelling out that much for software, $600 is a huge difference. You could always look for a slightly used one either still under warranty or has Apple Care on it. Might save you some money.
