And previsualization company Persistence Of Vision have this on their site. It doesn't specify but surely it must be Magneto?

2nd Quarter 2007
We're busy! POV re-unites with director J.J. Abrams for Star Trek XI, teams with Batman Begins writer David Goyer for an undisclosed project, starts pre-vis for the Jerry Bruckheimer produced G-Force, and completes visual effects final for Stephen King's 1408. As you can imagine, we're looking for talented pre-vis artists and animators. If that's you, see our jobs page.

Cool news. I'm looking forward to seeing something from this project. I wonder what direction they'll be taking with it?

Good to see things happening

Keep up the good work Retro :D

I have just watched their 2007 Demo Reel and what was the first thing I saw?

Seems they have previous experience with Magneto :D

Edit: If you watch the Demo Reel, straight after the I,Robot sequences is some rather cool Phoenix/Alkali Lake sequences

Thanks for that. This is probably why they got hired. Presuming of course that the undisclosed David Goyer project they refer to is indeed Magneto movie.:woot:

Sims is among other things responsible for the new look Hulk in the upcoming Incredible Hulk.

The way things are shaping it looks like we could have two X-Men spin-offs shooting at the same time or back-to-back depending on the shooting schedules.
