Playstation Concord

Ouch, what a total failure. I feel for the devs... :csad:

When games are taking five to ten years to hit release in the triple A space, you cannot chase trends. The market that the original idea was successful in will no longer exist by time your game is released. I feel bad for the studio because Sony has purchased them to unintentionally kill them but the writing was on the wall for this game before a single line of code was even written.

Lmao 😂 Sony deserves this should have gone through with the Last Of Us one which looked promising

Horrendous for all involved. 8 years spent on the least exciting thing ever.

you know what I was literally just thinking? have Sony revive tlou multiplayer and make these devs work on it. @Gee that way everyone is safe, and perhaps even more people could be happy

This is a sad turn of events, but then again, I didn't consider buying the game for a second. I was a big Overwatch fan for many years, but this type of game takes too much time and effort, and this one didn't seem like anything special.

Holy.... what in the world.

I'm genuinely surprised that they are pulling off the plug this early, and this week.... That is so shocking!

Yikes this is bad for Sony but I definitely blame Jim Ryan and his leadership for this catastrophe
While he should get blamed, it's fair to say Hermen Hulst should also get his fair share of blame from now on since he's the one sitting in the CEO chair.

There are at least two live-service games in development. There's the Horizon co-op game and the Horizon MMO game. Hulst has the power to cancel those projects right now before they (potentially) end up being failures.

Charging 40 dollars when every hero shooter is free was suicide.

Overwatch is the game that I keep thinking of when I see Concord footage, but I don't see the press ever comparing it to that.

I played the beta, it's overwatch even down to its game types. The mainstream gaming press really wanted this game to be a thing for whatever reason.

that's exactly what I was thinking without even playing it. and Overwatch is free.

Hmm. I'm assuming some would get absorbed by the other studios.

But with the Concord finally shut down, what else are they going to work on? A new game right after Concord's failure doesn't seem like a good idea. And who knows if thats gonna take another 8 years to launch a new game.
